Saw A Maverick In An Unusual Place

So I was watching a YouTube video about an Amtrak train voyage and as the train was rolling into Tampa the camera showed vehicles stopped at a railroad crossing. At the front of the line was a Ford Maverick. I had to rewind to be sure but yeah, cyber orange. Pretty cool.

They are out there, but very hard to spot. Yesterday I went on my 200 mile test drive I do after repairs of a vehicle, I passed a Rivian pulling a small Uhaul trailer & saw a Santa Cruz in the opposite lanes on the interstate, but did not see a Maverick.

For a while I was seeing a lot of Mavericks in town (one or more a week), now other the mine and someone who has one a few blocks away, I haven't seen one since the beginning of August. One of the ones I saw was a city work truck, so I'm sure I'll see it again soon.

Not a test drive of a new vehicle still owned by a dealer, they were saying they take a vehicle on a 200 mi road trip after it's been worked on, to instill confidence in the repair.

Some people just need reassurance, or maybe this is a routine drive they take..

200 miles I'd be across CT at the NY line to Cape Cod MA. That's a 3.5 to 4 hr trip Not routine at all.

In my small town I saw my same Area 51 Mav pass by me in oncoming traffic. That makes two us! Never see any others….

That route gives me all kinds of driving conditions, I used to use it for a Sunday ride in my convertible when I had it. I was testing my old Taurus, it has been sitting since Memorial day & one of my best friends is purchasing it this weekend. I had the dealer do a lot of maintenance items on it + I replaced trans filter & fluid & brakes, + I am a bit attached to this car, it was the first one I ever bought new & has been the most reliable vehicle I've had & wanted one last long ride before it goes to another state.
The test might be a bit excessive, there is a cut off point in this trip that cuts it in half if I choose, but feel 200 miles if something is going to go wrong it will happen in that distance.

I figured you were repairing your own. I completely understand that last long ride. Most of my cars I've become attached too also. When I have sold them I have always taken one long final ride, making sure everything is solid and to say goodbye.

I now have a Rivian in my small town, seen twice, and two Mavs. A CG eco xl down the street and an Alto hybrid. I see them several times a week, but it is a small town.
