I had a roll back model installed and the guide ends towards the tail gate looked shoddy and didnt overlap enough over the tail gate letting water in. So I had to call customer service to get an exchange. That's where the problem only started to snow ball since the factory installed it and not my Ford dealership. Had my dealership installed it, they would have given me a full refund or refund the difference towards the cover I ended up getting.
Instead of just getting a full refund from Ford Corporate for my defective cover and choosing another model cover (which was of lesser value by $600) they basically told me tough luck and we arent refunding the difference for your cheaper cover you've chosen. That's right, they wanted their pound of flesh and I had to eat $600!
You bet I complained and went to my director of sales at my local Ford dealership and they thought it was wrong too. After some wrangling and threats I was going to return my truck for a full refund (dealership guarantee) Ford corporate decides to add a $385 oil/tire rotation package to now only making my difference now only give or take 100-150 bucks. (My dealership kicked in for the cost of switching the covers)
Just wanting to get this nightmare over, I agreed as I told the dealership I wasnt going to buy a Ford ever again after that crappy treatment by Ford corporate. Again, it was my past good service with that dealership I went with Ford instead of Toyota. But not anymore. Granted this should be the last vehicle I should ever have to buy, but if it gets totaled, I will buy Toyota instead.
Again, Fords motto "Quality is job one" I beg to differ.
