I purchased this cover from Amazon and installed it yesterday. The instructions were very good and it was very easy to install. I have not tested it for rain or a car wash yet. It is suppose to rain today so we’ll see. Two things of importance on my install. One of the nuts to hold the front panel turns within the plastic knob. I’ll try and fix that but for now it was tightened by channel locks. Secondly, and more importantly, there is a gap between the window and the first panel. It is due to the connection when you secure it while folded. There is really good weather stripping underneath the panels. I’m thinking of adding weatherstripping by attaching it to the window and overlapping the panel to cover that gap. Since not previously owning a hard tonneau cover, I can’t say how it compares to those more expensive. Right now, I’m very pleased with the fit and finish except as noted.

And yes, I also bought the Smartliners which are excellent!

Thanks for sharing. I just stumbled across this on Amazon today and was curious if anyone had purchased one yet. If the tonneau itself checks out, then I just need to decide if I want an imported cover like this vs. spending more on a domestic one.

What other covers did you consider? Any particular reason you chose this one?

My .02, wait for a good sale at Real Truck and purchase there. Every single call and correspondence I have made has been fantastic. I tried a budget Lund tri fold from them, which arrived damaged. I though I could get replacement parts but I was given the option of replacement or exchange, so I exchanged and paid a bit extra to upgrade the Bak MX4. Super happy with the customer support, and when it is all said and done I spent around $700 for a quality cover with great customer support. If you wait there are often rebates that stack on the forum pricing from Real Truck.

Does this have a drain channel or basically a drain tube you have to install?

There is no drain tube. I’ll post pictures today and show the fit and finish. We didn’t get any rain yesterday so no water test yet.

I was really interested in the roll up hard top. I looked at the bak flip, tux?, and several others. So buying an XL, probably means I’m a little frugal. I just couldn’t bring myself to pay +$800 for a hard top. And I wanted hard for the security aspect. Amazon has another one like this but just a little more money. Anyway, I was willing to try it. Once the Maverick is out for awhile, I’m guessing the prices in general for the known brands will come down.

Yes as I mentioned below, once the newness of the Maverick wears off, the prices of the known brands will come down. I didn’t want to wait as I have the truck now and need to cover my precious golf clubs 😂. Anyway, I’ve seen some of the other makes and models and this one…at the moment…does not not make me wish I would have waited. That $200 savings in this example bought my DIBL with Ford Pass points. At the end of the day, to each his own.

Here’s one I had in my phone. The top is very solid. Here are the negatives.
1) When you fold the two sections back, the snaps to hold them down are against the window making it hard to release. It’s the typical plastic snap (male and female type).
2) as mentioned above, the snaps are next to the window so that 1/2 to 3/4” makes the top hang over the back two corners about that much. You should see that in the picture. It sits pretty good on the tailgate so I don want to mess with it too much. The tailgate opens and closes fine when the cover is on.

I’m not disappointed at all…for the price. I’m thinking of modifying the snap arrangement to minimize the corner overhang. If you are a perfectionist, you may want to stay away from it because of that. If it does leak, it’s very minimal and it definitely does not flop when you are driving. I look at it as another layer to haul things If needed…it’s that sturdy.

I appreciate that write and the explanation of fitment. The esthetics are import so although it works functionally I am torn. I am trying to keep everything around the Maverick economical so I may wait to purchase a different hard tonneau. This was one of the first economical models offered on Amazon and they did not get the measurements right. I'll keep you posted on what I get. I am still waiting on my Maverick.

I understand. It’s not a biggie for me. Here are better pics. You’ll see the 1/2” gap at the window and similar at the tailgate.
That’s frost on the cover if you are wondering.

I agree that something looks a bit wonky and needs minor adjustment.

I found this picture in another thread. It shows the same cover, but it looks better aligned with the tailgate.

I ended up taking those female connectors off and moved it up about 3/4” and it looks much better. The lack of latching the panels down has not made a difference when traveling.
