I guess what gripes me is my XLT only has the LUX package that is a constraint. I got an Ecoboost, sliding back glass, full size spare, velocity blue, with the LUX package, ordered January 26th of 22. Late in the game but I have one thing holding it up. No schedule yet. My dealer is "the 4th oldest Ford dealership in the country" but small potatoes compared to the mega dealerships, so I am guessing that there allocations are just a couple a month or so. I figure I am destine to a push back.

Yes, some people ordered at the end of January and got theirs already, but since Ford starting supposedly going by older orders first (like they should've to begin with), I don't think you are looking good. I have seen some November Ecoboost orders but no new January ones.

I just got off the phone with Ford and was told that an email is going out this week to advise you to talk to your dealer about removing items from your build. The dealers should have the list of items they want you to remove such as Co-Pilot 360 and XLT/Lariat Luxury packages and some others. She stated that if you change your order and remove the constraint items, you will get a VIN and a 2022 Maverick. If not, you will be notified that you will need to order a 2023 Maverick and will get a special discount code and be allowed to place your "new" order before they open orders for 2023s to new customers. She couldn't tell me what the special discount was or how much if any impact this would have on your final price.

So we have two who have referenced the "email this week" now so maybe something will go out. This seems more plausible than just saying we are bumped. Not removing anything from my builds so I guess I'm getting a 23.

I'm not removing anything from my build(s). I'm happy to be bumped to a 23 at this point.

🤔 I don’t have any constraints and don’t have a vin. Removing items does not guarantee you will get built this year.

At least 30,000-40,000 “orders” will not be converted to trucks actually delivered as expected for 2022 model year.

what are you basing those numbers on? IMO, there's less than 30,000 total orders left to build at this point and we will shortly have June produced numbers to add to the 66,500 already confirmed. Then they have all of July, August, Sept + 3 weeks of October until production stops.

The only question is if you receive a VIN before or on August 4th, will the maverick you receive be a MY22. I am not so sure what is so sacred about one digit in a VIN. I think if it cannot be built before October 21, it has to be rolled over to MY23 or MY23 start-up has to be moved back. What is Ford's other choices if more constraints arise??? These are the only two choices I see.
I suspect Ford will be conservative with the number of MY22 orders scheduled the last few weeks to minimize the chances of having "leftovers," and if they do the number will be relatively small. Under that scenario I think they have 3 choices: (1) roll them into MY23 and assign new VINs; (2) extend the 10/21 date for a short period to get the '22s built; or (3) build the leftover '22s after 10/21 alongside the '23s.

Now, if there's some kind of supply chain disaster that results in a high number of MY22 leftovers with assigned VINs, choice 3 would be out. I would guess Ford would go with #1 in that case.

So here is an question that is bothering me. I have not been given a build date for my September 18, 2021 XLT EB Lux w/CP360 yet. If I get a build date in Late August for an October build, and it takes 6 to 8 weeks to reach NJ, am I actually buying a leftover at premium prices? Something doesn’t seem fair, and what if I get rolled over for a MY23, will the constraints disappear?
