My Order suddenly doesn’t exist - Oct 9 Hybrid

Curious about the color change. Did you change it or did the dealer say the Silver was a constraint? I was sent an email about the lux package being a constraint. I told them to dump it. I was sent, that day, a new order form with new price etc, it matches my window sticker.
Regardless good luck and be a pitbull about, at the VERY least, getting an apology from both Ford and more specifically the dealer.

There are 4 possible scenarios:
  1. Dealer screwed up and didn't do ROVP by deadline and now is CYA
  2. Dealer screwed up the color change. Cancelled your old order and created a new order (which was rejected). And is now in CYA
  3. Dealer is too stupid to realize their change fiddled with your order number and so because of that Ford can't find it
  4. Dealer wants your truck so changed info to hide it.

No, I saw the silver with black wheels. XLT would have the Grey wheels so maybe ok but the one I saw didn’t look clean but was new. It wasn’t a bright clean silver. Still when in the light I liked the silver. So I saw that one at a dealer on vacation and texted and asked the dealer if I could change to white without coming in or would I need to come in and sign. He texted back - done, changed to white. Silver was low volume production and I wondered if it was holding me back. I was excited to possibly get scheduled this week with white. Excited, I called the ford number and they couldn’t find my order. I’ve called 4 times now but same result.

Those are good possibilities. The weirdest thing is that Ford says if the dealer cancelled it they would have a record of cancellation but they don’t. Maybe the dealer did swap it over somehow to keep and sell. Could be.

I'll say this again in this thread so future customers will remember. If you have co-signed buyer's order and a sales order with the sales code (one letter followed by five numbers on mine) and the order code below it ( one letter with two numbers and one letter on mine, usually four characters of some kind) those documents will support the email confirmation.

You can't delete hard copies or lose them in cyberspace. They'll also become your support documentation if a dealer tries to play "dumb VINCENT"

I ordered an xlt hybrid Oct 9,2021 with Fayetteville Ford in Georgia. I received an order confirmation same day by email from Ford. I also received a March 2022 email apologizing for constraints on my order. Last week I had the dealer change my color from silver to white. Today June 20,2022 I called Ford at 1-800-392-3673 to check status. They told me they have no record of my order. I provided the order code and sales code. They told me to call my dealer who said all hybrids had been canceled and he was sorry but it was because I ordered a hybrid. I’ve called Ford two more times. They say hybrids are not cancelled and they should have a record if I had ever had an order even if it was cancelled. Ford says they can’t elevate it for investigation etc as there is no order to investigate. I told them I could show evidence from the Ford emails. My dealer says I can order when the my 2023s open in August. So I’ve waisted 8 or 9 months. I’m not happy and I don’t know what went wrong. I had called Ford and chatted online in the past but possibly with the marketing dept (different contact phone number I think). So my question is has this happened to anyone else? @timbartz @fordvideoguy any ideas? I don’t know what I can do. My dealer is not willing to help. I gave my drivers license and followed up with Ford and received a confirmation email so I don’t think it’s ROVP or whatever it’s called.
I ordered a hybrid mid October. Wonder if I should be nervous. Feel powerless.

I have a signed preview order with a sales code and order code and price. There is only one line for a customer signature and they made me sign it. I do not have their signature. I agree with what you say. I just trusted them then. I didn’t ask them to sign. I ordered with the x plan and they said all prices for the x plan are set by ford and they aren’t allowed to change them so no need to worry about pricing surprises etc.

Funny peoples perceptions. I ordered the silver as I thought it was a bright clean silver. Never owned a silver car. I did order the FX4 package specifically for the wheels.
The dealer should have emailed you the new order form with the color change to sign.

What I don't get about this is that you get a confirmation from Ford a follow up email asking to drop constraints. And yet you may not have an order as some have said because the ROVP has not been verified? This to me is BS. If taking an order is that complicated it's astonishing to me.

I a bit regretted dropping silver. Full disclosure, the silver new one at the dealer need cleaning up. It has debris all over the tailgate etc so maybe it just needed a wash in reality.

Agree, I got the ford email asking me to drop constraints. I have cp360 (or had) It almost seems like Ford just wiped my order away for some reason without notification. But I asked Ford Corporate to investigate but they said without an order, nothing they can investigate.

Dealer claimed hybrids are cancelled but did not provide proof. Ford Corporate said hybrids are not cancelled. It’s all weird.
