Engine Coolent Leak

Got the check engine light last week (1600 KM driven) and took it to the dealership. After diagnostics I am told that parts are not available and will be a few month before it gets fixed...I preferred not to take it back and got the loaner instead.

I believe not. You have to drive it to see if yours is effected. Mine came up after 1600km.

Same here. My dealer patched it with Teflon tape for now, but don't think it is working. Been checking it daily. Do you feel its good idea all of us have this problem to pool together on what is done so far?

Just wondering if these leaks are actually due to the block heater failing (seems a stretch that it could leak a lot of coolant) or an incorrect installation from the factory. Sounds like your dealer repaired an incorrect installation. Are they going back in to do further work?

Perhaps those who have had the problem could weigh in on what their dealer actually needed to do to fix it. It would suck to be on a road trip and have to wait two weeks for a new block heater when a plug from a US model or Escape would fit the hole.

I don't think the "fix" is working. Been check the front coolant tank and it is getting lower everyday. Going back to dealer next week.

Standard on the Canadian hybrid. Don't believe it is in the US.

Welcome to the XLT Hybrid block heater coolant leak club! I think you're the third person that I've seen post with this issue. Mine started leaking around 900km. I was told two weeks for the part. It's been about a week and a half now and I haven't heard anything from the dealer. Going to follow up today. I wonder if the block heater can just be bypassed like the US model?

On my Mav 3rd week and little over 1000km Canada version XL Hybrid. April build day.
Engine light on, coolant almost empty I can see from reservoir.

So excited after wait more than 8 months, guess it would stay in dealer for some days

I don't think anyone is yet to have complete repairs done.
