Love mine, had it two years in my sport trac.
Now it's in the Maverick. I mounted the rear cam inside this time on the driver side to the left of the sliding mirror. You can hardly notice it. It's no longer sold on Amazon but it can be found on eBay for around $55. It's listed as different brands, but if you'll look at the photos it's a jeemak same as mine.
Quality is good at 1080p for the front. I think the rear is 720, not as good

Have you always had the rearview cam in the cab or did you run in to the tailgate in your sporttrac?

I ran it under the truck and mounted next to the license plate on the Sport Trac. I didn't want to go through the trouble of wiring it this time, plus the view was a little low. Would be helpful though if your tailgate was down and hauling something blocking the rear window.

You can see it to the right of the license plate in this photo.

Ok, so are you planning to install the rearview camera? I 've been thinking about this as well and thought that a brake light camera might be best. It would be great for viewing traffic, blind spots and bed cargo. I would still keep the stock camera and use it for parking purposes.

It comes with the rear camera which acts as parking cam and rear camera while you drive. The install is simple. It comes with a red wire that you plug into the head unit and you just need to snake it throughout the car to the rear and tap into the reverse light. In this case, it’s the green wire for my Acura TSX which I used a T-tap connector and pinch it to the reverse light wire and voila when I put the car in reverse it puts it into the reverse camera with lane guidance lines. Everything is plug and play pretty much. When I get the maverick I just need to find that reverse light wire and T-tap it to that wire. Now snaking the wire from the head unit to the reverse light in the Maverick might be a bit challenging since the lights are located on the sides of the truck and not on the trunk itself like my Acura.

I was wondering how to get the backup feature to work myself because I was stronger considering putting the camera in the cab instead of running it all the way to the rear.

I did not wire mine to a reverse wire, as the infotainment screen already shows when in reverse. You can manual select the rear camera to show whenever you want, or all the time.

I might mount the rear camera on top of the cargo light where the antenna is when I get my Maverick.

I’m thinking about drilling a hole in the cargo or bed light housing and snaking the wire through there.
