Hello all,

Anyone order the Diamondback cover? Finally available - https://diamondbackcovers.com/products/diamondback-se-2022-ford-maverick?variant=39653358469219

There is a $400 price difference between the black and silver versions. The only difference I can see is that the black version is coated with bed liner.

How difficult do you think it would be to coat the silver version DIY?
You might want to take a look at the new Fusion cover by A.R.E. the covers match the truck body color. www.4are.com

How secure are these?

We're a service company in NYC. Need to be able to secure tools and equipment. Do you know what it's like here? The City is a mess.

As a matter of fact, we have the ARE MX Cap on order (3 months lead time starting June 1). The Diamondback would be a temporary solution until the cap arrives.

Well acquainted with NYC. I would recommend contacting them directly...this is a new product. I have the ARE LSll on my F150 and it is very secure.

Diamondbacks are top notch! Secured with a keyed lock handle with under rail bars on both sides...

It’s a big package. Bigger than the bed of the truck! It will take me a few days to have the time to inbox and get this installed, hopefully by this weekend!

It's a powered coat black, I have one for my F150. But I think the Maverick bed is small bed for this cover unless you need the extra security.

They must have changed. Their FAQ says it's Sprayon Bed liner. See screenshot

As for need, need something to keep my tools and equipment safe until my Cap arrives in 3 months.

As for size, we're a NYC based equipment service company. The Mav is perfect for our needs.

They must have changed the spray along the way. I found the Diamond back restrictive when needing to carry tall stuff and removing was easy enough but not convenient. I'm using a soft roll top but if security is an issue , the aluminum revolver may be a good option. My other favorite I used for years was 3/4 inch aluminum chanel mounted inside the rails to slide in 5/8th MDO raptor painted plywood. The locking tail gate made this very secure in Boston. I cut the channel back couple inches from the front leaving a gap to hold the cover vertically to store when removing. I'll try to dig up a picture. You can still use a topper/cap over this as well. Makes for a good shelf and holds some weight on top.

Ok, I have it mostly installed, still need some adjustments on the locking clamps, but I need a helper for that. Install wasn’t too bad, but hard in the small maverick bed.

note that I was able to spread the clamps a little further out than shown in the picture

Looks great!

Do the clamps hook onto the plastic trim or do they actually grab the bed body?

What are you using to fill the lift gate gaps to prevent water leaking?

The clamps go around the plastic and actually hook onto the bed body, so it is quite sturdy. The issue I ran into is the bed cap has those little plastic tabs that poke through into the bed, so one of the clamps is maybe a 1/2" from the edge, but still secure.

I already had weather striping on my tailgate from my previous soft cover, so no need to replace that, and then between the panels there is a channel that runs across the bed and out so any water should just go right out.
