Just put on the Ford accessory tailgate spoiler. It’s not great. Is hollow with an odd finish that already seems to be collecting marks. I don’t see it holding up to well to truck stuff. Like if a 2x4 leaning against it or something

It's pretty ugly to me and on top of that it's in a high wear area being at the end of the tailgate. The one area in the bed that's probably going to take the most abuse unless you never use the bed for anything other than groceries.

Which raises the question " why would you put a spoiler on a truck tailgate anyway?"

That's a rhetorical question.

Seems like one of the more weird additions to me but to each their own. Maybe if it was paint matched, I don’t know.

same with cab spoiler. Scratching my head over it's purpose.

Did you expect it to not be hollow? I’ll be adding this for sure. My truck will not be doing “truck stuff”
I expected it to be more the texture of the existing tailgate cap and I pictured it being filled with foam like my old BMW spoilers for some reason

I don’t think Ford figured on people with that spoiler would carry 2x4’s.
Yeah I imagine the venn diagram of tailgate spoiler people and Truck Stuff people would not have a large overlap

I think Ford tried to design the truck to be versatile And appeal to different crowds. They knew there would be the crowd that uses the truck as a truck And another crowd would but use it for a streetable sports car bar. I think that's the real reason why the spoiler and the hood scoop were made. This is basically the focus ST of trucks
