Yesterday my dealer had a demo Maverick with a Ford product guy. It was a lariat with the FX4 and Tow packages. I checked the skid plate. It goes from the front bumper to the front suspension. Rearward from there is just a fiber tray. I couldn’t see what was above that tray, but I don’t think there is a skid plate until the gas tank. Those ordering the FX4 package might want to double check this.

That’s pretty standard for skid plate placement

Did you not get any pictures of the Maverick ? How did you like it in person ? Was it what you thought it would be ? Anything you didn`t like about it ? Thanks

Anyone know if there is a Maverick near Denver or Kansas City? I ordered the FX4 package and would definitely like to see any Maverick in person.

Last Thursday Larry Miller in Lakewood Colorado, where I entered my order, had a Maverick and a Ford representative for customers. We didn’t do any test drives, but we could get in it, start the engine and ask the Ford rep questions. You might want to the dealer where you entered your or other local Ford dealers when they will have a demo Maverick you could look at.

Duh - I forgot to take pictures! This was a Lariat, I ordered an XLT. I really liked the interior - simple and clean. I wasn't super thrilled with the fiber tray under the truck, there should at least be a skid plate under the gas tank as part of the FX4 package. The front bash guard looked pretty stout. I prefer the Maverick's styling to the Hyundai Santa Cruz. Just personal taste here, I just prefer the simple styling over the Santa Cruz's complex styling. The Maverick had a spray in bed liner which looked really good. It had a sliding back window - that window is pretty small, so I wouldn't pay for it myself, but I've never owned a pickup before, so maybe I am making a mistake? The back seat had plenty of room for me, but I am short. I like the storage under the back seat - its really easy to get to and is a nice place to store things I don't want seem. Another thing I like better about the Maverick than the Santa Cruz - the front end of the Santa Cruz looks really low. This is good for economy, but could get damaged when off-road.
