Isn't the FX4 package supposed to have skid plates?

I damaged the underbody fabric liner when I went offroading and when I removed it discovered some exposed cables. I thought the FX4 package was supposed to come with skid plates? Last week my local Ford dealer did the gas tank recall and I'm wondering if they didn't reinstall the skid plate when they were putting everything back together?

The skid plate is just in front. The felt liners run on both sides after the skid plate. I destroyed one of mine...around $100 a pop for felt.

Where did you get the replacement from?

Skid plate only protects the engine unfortunately. Those fabric liners arent going to do anything except improve drag coefficient -

Fordparts.com. I think they still have 20% off. It's known as a deflector.

Here is the part number for the driver side: NZ6Z9911782C

I don't think that's the correct one. But I did end up finding it. NZ6B11133AB. Looks like it's on backorder.

Yes, I checked the parts system for that number. None are in the parts depots currently (it is possible some dealers may have in stock though).
The system shows 13 of them "in transit to packager". No ETA listed.

I’m hoping the tremor metal skid plates can be added to the FX4. The felt pieces were a big disappointment.

Can you point me to where you found that the Tremor gets full metal skid plates? I couldn't find the specifics anywhere.

Don’t think it does. There was just a breakdown of the Tremors hardware after someone crawled around under it and it seemed to have the same combo of plates and felt as the FX4. Think the difference was maybe that the Tremor gets steel plates vs aluminum on FX4 but could be wrong

The Tremor will still have all the felt under-body panels. They are there for aerodynamics and nothing more - though they do offer some road noise reduction.

Off-road package "skid plates" aren't for the entire under-body they are for drivetrain components like engine and transmission only. See below from Tremor....

What keeps those felt pads in place, adhesive?. What would be the harm in removing them to facilitate corrosion protection? They sound like a good place for road salt and brine to accumalate to me.

Had some adhesive fastened fabric type heat shield on my Ranger above the exhaust. All it did was cause unbelievable rust on the underside of the rear bed. So here I am with the rear of the truck on ramps, truck covered in plastic sandblasting the underside of the bed laying on my back completely not enjoying myself eating black beauty media. :ROFLMAO: I'm looking to avoid that this go round.

They have quite a few bolts/fasteners. There are holes that water drains from and they don't sit flush on the body.

We were both right. Just visited the dealer. The part I had is the "engineering part number". She wrote down on a paper the part number I should look for online - which is the number you gave me.
