That'll be perfect for his new Myth section he recently added to the weekly podcast!@fordvideoguy Hi Tim, maybe this would be a good topic for Tuesday or Thursday: increase of vehicles damaged in shipping.
When my truck arrived at rail yard and sat there for almost 3 weeks, I thought it was strange even with Covid ,etc. I spoke to a sales manager about this as its less than 2 miles away from dealership. Two days later I got the email from Ford saying it had been delivered. I waited until 3p, no call from salesman. Drove down there and it was out front and clean. Called dealer and asked if it arrived. He says oh I'm not sure....Grrrrr. calls me back 20 mins later, oh it's here....picked it up an hour later and I said, no, no, no and no to any add ons. Gave them a check and will do all of my oil changes , etc at other dealer 20 miles further. Was not the best experience. Waited 6 months and 2 weeks for my XL Hybrid. I absolutely love it! This is only about 25% of the experience with this dealer. Have not received the fits accessory kit and when I ask this dealer, they don't even know what I'm talking about. Reaching out to Ford today. Always go with your gut and if you feel something is fishy, ask for details, etc.If and when I receive confirmation my truck is in transit, and because my dealer is 10 minutes away, I'll attempt to be at the dealership before the Maverick arrives to make sure there's no funny business![]()
So last night I get a call from someone at the dealership thanking me for my business. I replied I hadn’t completed a transaction there yet and was still waiting to hear about my truck delivery. He said it would be arriving at the dealer today, Wednesday, and my salesman would be giving me a call. I thanked him, hung up and started packing for my 8 hour road trip. I was so excited I got up at 3 AM and left by 4:30 AM. As I was driving through Jacksonville my salesman called and I was so excited! He said “I have some good news and some news that might make you a little upset.“ Then he said the truck arrived but it had been damaged on the transport truck and the roof was so damaged they had to return it! I was stunned and couldn’t say anything for a minute or two and then I just blurted out that I was not a little upset, I was a lot upset! He apologized and said they would give me highest priority for another Lariat that was unclaimed. I’m afraid that did not make me feel any better! Back to the waiting game
Update 2/3/22 - .Anyone who knows me knows I always say “everything happens for a reason!” This morning I got a call from my favorite salesman, Patrick, at my local dealer, Bozard Ford, telling me his customer who ordered a CG first edition Lariat got tired of waiting and turned it and bought a Mercedes! I’m getting dressed and on my way to get my new Maverick!!! Delivered 2/2/22, the Lunar year of the Tiger and my Lunar birth year! Ran into a snag with the temporary Fordpass Visa card so couldn’t take delivery today
Since this thread has gotten so long I’m adding this synopsis for those who want the Cliff notes (that sure dates me!)
Update 2/4 - picked up my Carbonized Grey First Edition Lariat Chariot and love it! Received an email from Gary Yeoman’s asking how I liked my new vehicle that I took delivery of on 2/1? @Rob Cactus Gray was kind enough to run a Carfax inquiry on the VIN and it says the truck was titled to the new owner on 2/1!
2/5 - got an email from Ford asking about my experience so I told them!

DID YOU ASK FRO PICTURE OF THE DAMAGE? I do want to sound negative but dealers are realizing that are leaving money on the table getting the cars directly from Ford, that is not the same money the are getting it if they sold is through them. if you have the VIN number-track it down. This has been gone over a couple of times in the thread already.DID YOU ASK FRO PICTURE OF THE DAMAGE?
ANYWAYS- if you don't mimed. when did the order got place? I would like to know, so i could see on the time frame from the order received until the time the car got to the dealer. This has been gone over a couple of times in the thread already.
Depends how far you want to take it, you'd need the computer logs from when the calls took place that show the ip addresses proving the calls took place. Chances are the calls were recorded and are held for up to x amount of months for "national security" reasons. If a defense lawyer thinks there is a big payday to be had they will dig into it like a shark. Leads back to an important point have the ability and do so to record the conversations whether over the phone or whatever for your own records. Just look up the laws were you are and in Florida about recording phone calls and find out if you need to disclose you are recording the conversation first for legal purposes. I tell them it might be recorded for quality purposes like they tell you to keep them guessing. Then get them on the phone or go directly to the dealer and get them on the hook this time. That or find out if a local tv station will do one of those undercover pieces calling out a fraudulent dealer.
m Gary Yeomans Ford in Daytona Beach, FL! It certainly makes me wonder about my ”damaged, had to be returned“ CO Lariat hybrid. I have not been able to get any info with the VIN, so if anyone can help I would appreciate it! VIN #3FTTW8E32NR
Please go back and read the posts on this - every question has been answered at least 5 times.ANYWAYS- if you don't mimed. when did the order got place? I would like to know, so i could see on the time frame from the order received until the time the car got to the dealer.
Supposedly no pictures were taken of the "damaged" Maverick. VIN via Carfax showed it was sold to someone else the same day. The OP has covered all of this. She knows.DID YOU ASK FRO PICTURE OF THE DAMAGE? Hmm, that sounds fishy..... the dealer told you that was returned....Supposedly no pictures were taken of the "damaged" Maverick. VIN via Carfax showed it was sold to someone else the same day. The OP has covered all of this. She knows.
What tonneau cover did you get? The reason I ask is the first edition package says soft roll up. Tim Bartz did a video on FE Maverick and it had a trifold cover. Just curious I have the exact FE 22 Maverick on order. Build week 3/14. Love the pictures. Oh lord.
So many words, no understanding of civil suits.
What, exactly, would be her monetary damages?
Loss of innocence?
Hours of drive time?
Massive disappointment?
