Well, I would ignore your posts but I think I gave a very important bit of information. Your first clue should have been recognizing that there's a reason they wouldn't take a deposit. I'm trying to help people from wasting time. Dealers are unscrupulous. Don't trust anything verbal. All they care about is the sale, not you or your feelings. It's the nature of the business. I'd never drive 8 hours on a verbal agreement from a dealership when they refuse a deposit, just seems like a no brainer that you're going to get the shaft.

IMO I have found most of your comments to be negative but I’m glad you are so much smarter. Patrick, at Bozard, did not ask for a deposit and everyone at that dealership has been transparent for years! The owner, Leddy Bozard, would not tolerate the shenanigans of GY! Since you choose not to “ignore” this thread I will choose to just ignore you and your negative comments

We are all swimming in negativity I don’t add to it by commenting on the selfish practices of scrupulous dealer or salesmen I feel sorry for them. We reap what we sow. I believe fate directed me to Geenlady I know there are no coincidences.

This has happened to me many time on so many different things. I was urged In the middle of the night to post this ($500 finder’s fee for Maverick ) on MTC and the first return was Greenlady within minutes.

It turned out to be exactly the right color and exactly what I was looking for. And the dealership believed in positivizes and even gives you a book about it. When you are helping others you are helping yourself.

( Bozard Ford and Patrick Robinson, came through with a better-than-I-hoped-for Lariat with all the s and whistles!)

Positiveness attracts Positiveness its universal. Don't let the negative practices of others get you down.

If i were you, I'd drive to the first dealer with my new ride. Tell them thank you "in your loudest voice" for the middle finger they gave you. Then walk out and get into your better vehicle and drive off and never think about them again.

Great idea but I’m waiting for Dylan or Mike to call (if they ever do) with a hybrid Mav so I can tell them about my sweet deal and send pictures. Otherwise I don’t need to waste any energy on the. I wrote my reviews and everyone here has helped so much!

What I am doing is keeping our order, which now won't be delivered before end of April, and still pursuing a truck avail even if it isn't exactly what we ordered. My DH needs the moonroof b/c he is 6'7" and needs the bit of extra head space, also needs CoPilot360 he is a shitty driver haha. I think it is reasonable to be able to sell the 1st bought truck, maybe even for more than we buy, when the ordered truck arrives. If I come across a Hybrid I will let you know. I may even look outside FL and fly him out and he drives back lol.

I don't disagree, but I suspect the OP was possibly like many folks who don't automatically assume that they are being lied to. Thanks to this forum, situations like this are brought out in the open and we can all learn how to better protect ourselves from unethical car dealers.

Text messages with timestamps and the carfax report is legal proof of fraudulent business practice at minimum.

Depends how far you want to take it, you'd need the computer logs from when the calls took place that show the ip addresses proving the calls took place. Chances are the calls were recorded and are held for up to x amount of months for "national security" reasons. If a defense lawyer thinks there is a big payday to be had they will dig into it like a shark. Leads back to an important point have the ability and do so to record the conversations whether over the phone or whatever for your own records. Just look up the laws were you are and in Florida about recording phone calls and find out if you need to disclose you are recording the conversation first for legal purposes. I tell them it might be recorded for quality purposes like they tell you to keep them guessing. Then get them on the phone or go directly to the dealer and get them on the hook this time. That or find out if a local tv station will do one of those undercover pieces calling out a fraudulent dealer.

Also as an FYI for telepresence calls in future business transactions. If you are doing it from home have a security camera that can record audio and video in the room pointed towards the screen. There is a difference between recording an actual call and happening to catch one on a security camera from a legal standpoint if you have to use it as evidence afterwards.
