Good news, bad news. The salesman told me it was damaged and then sold it to someone else!

I’m guessing those are real reviews not bogus ones like on Google.
I did send a text to the salesman this AM with a pic of the forum threads with number of views, a copy of the email I got from the dealership asking how I like my new vehicle and a copy of the Carfax report. I asked him if he thought I would just go away and ignore his lies? I told him he was wrong! I also wrote a lengthy review on Google that shows my name. I hope this doesn’t come back to bite me in the butt🤞🏻
If you had any signed paperwork that is also a breach of contract. Might want to report it to the Better Business Bureau and the Florida Consumer Affairs Department see if they can take any action against the dealership.

Yes, visual verification would have been nice.. I've heard that Ford/dealer has made big adjustments to the pricing of ordered vehicles...did they offer a great deal first?
Salesman did not mention the $2995 ADM until I read about it on this forum and then asked. salesman said this isn’t much because on some vehicles it’s $10,000! But “I’m working on getting this reduced for you“ 🤣🤣🤣

No, they know what they’re doing. No sigNed paperwork, no deposit run, the ball was in their court☹

He won't let himself lie to you again in the future?

P.s. I think I'd send them a bill for your wasted time and fuel expenses for the aborted trip to pick up the truck when their fraudulent phone call came, just for S&G.
I typically don’t like negative people in my life and don’t waste any energy on them. I just want to alert as many people as possible to GY’s bad business practices and maybe save someone else from the headaches.

So many in this MTC group have helped me through the negative part of my Maverick journey and that is the reason I am grateful for the whole experience! In the end my local dealer, Bozard Ford and Patrick Robinson, came through with a better-than-I-hoped-for Lariat with all the 🔔s and whistles! Even better it only cost $1150 more for the one with GY’s ADM and I would have had no moonroof and still had to buy a tonneau! And the best - had I not been a member of this group I would not have been able to send @Nexus to Bozard to buy the XL he was hunting that I turned down and then get the $500 finder’s fee! So instead of getting screwed by scumbags I ended up with the prize for only $650 more So THANK YOU MTC MEMBERS!!!

Google review ratings are so easy to manipulate. For the one star review I wrote they will just have relatives or employees post a bunch of 5 star reviews without any feedback to boost the star count.
I gave a motorcycle dealer that I bought from a 1 star review because I caught them lying to me. By the end of the day someone gave a 5 star review for the dealer. I googled the name and it was the dealership’s manager.
Shady is still shady sadly ☹

Dealer should disclose ADM, and let GreenLady choose a charity that should receive the mark-up+.

AND some public dealership groveling…
Could only wish for that!

She mentioned a few times in this thread that she gave her CC number for a deposit but they never would charge it. She asked them to. But basically they told her not to worry, that's she got it. And they notified her after she was nearly to the dealer after an 8 hour trip that it was damaged and had to send it back.

Straight up dishonest. They should have told her the truth, that she didn't have a finalized deposit and they either accidentally sold it (because of salesman error in holding it) or intentionally sold it. They decided (or possibly the salesman) to straight up lie and deceive to cover up. Scum bags.
Well said, thank you! I would have finished my vacation in NC had he been truthfu!

Didn't realize this was an unclaimed Maverick and not a special order specifically ordered by OP. Let this be a lesson to anyone not to trust a "reserved" stock vehicle being held for them. Dealers do not abide by this, they will take the guaranteed sale every single time over some random person claiming to be coming 8 hours because guess what, for every 10 people that say they're coming to buy the vehicle, probably half don't show up and then half of the ones that do can't get financed. Honestly, this thread was kind of misleading because most people, myself included were under the impression that this was a special ordered Maverick from OP. People, don't do this to yourself. Unless the dealer is willing to complete the transaction remotely and you have paperwork in hand that it is actually YOUR vehicle, not just some refundable deposit in place. Do not drive 8 hours to buy a popular vehicle that the dealer says they're going to hold for you.
I don’t believe I was misleading, sorry you feel that way! You should have read more of my posts before judging and you would have known I did not order that truck! I had been trying to put down a $1000 deposit for 10 days to hold the truck when it arrived. The customer turned it down before it was even dealer stock! Please “ignore” this thread so you won’t feel misled anymore.

Update 2/4/22 - Hit a snag with the Fordpass Visa temporary card yesterday and then the day was over so getting my Lariat today. BTW, never got a return phone call or text from salesman or sales manager about the “possible“ replacement truck☹

I compared prices, before and after MSRP. #1 - “damaged” Lariat, Lux, CO paint, bed extender and co-pilot vs #2 - Carbonized Grey Lariat, Lux, First Edition, soft tri-fold tonneau, moonroof, black wheels, window deflectors, bed lighting and co-pilot.
MSRP - #2 CG $950 more
Dealer Fee - #1 - Gary Yeoman’s Ford, Daytona Beach - $2995, Salesman said he would work on the number 🤣 #2 - Bozard Ford, St Augustine - $899.
Bottomline - #1 would have cost $1146 more before tax and I would still need to buy a tonneau! Instead I now have a moonroof, tonneau, all the other goodies and saved money!🥰 Pictures later today.
If i were you, I'd drive to the first dealer with my new ride. Tell them thank you "in your loudest voice" for the middle finger they gave you. Then walk out and get into your better vehicle and drive off and never think about them again.

Well, I would ignore your posts but I think I gave a very important bit of information. Your first clue should have been recognizing that there's a reason they wouldn't take a deposit. I'm trying to help people from wasting time. Dealers are unscrupulous. Don't trust anything verbal. All they care about is the sale, not you or your feelings. It's the nature of the business. I'd never drive 8 hours on a verbal agreement from a dealership when they refuse a deposit, just seems like a no brainer that you're going to get the shaft.

This may be the wrong place to express this but it’s true where ever its posted. We are all swimming in negativity I don’t add to it by commenting on the selfish practices of scrupulous dealer or salesmen I feel sorry for them. We reap what we sow. I believe fate directed me to Geenlady I know there are no coincidences.

This has happened to me many time on so many different things. I was urged In the middle of the night to post this ($500 finder’s fee for Maverick ) on MTC and the first return was Greenlady within minutes.

It turned out to be exactly the right color and exactly what I was looking for. And the dealership believed in positivizes and even gives you a book about it. When you are helping others you are helping yourself.

( Bozard Ford and Patrick Robinson, came through with a better-than-I-hoped-for Lariat with all the s and whistles!)

Positiveness attracts Positiveness its universal. Don't let the negative practices of others get you down.

They will answer to their own karma a boomerang always comes back to who through it.
