So a week or 2 ago i got truck detailed. Guy put tire shine and thats when I noticed a small indentation on front right tire. Looked around and it was only one. Today at work a guy wanted to check out the truck and the lighting was perfect where now I see 2 similar indentations on front left tire. Checked the front right again and now theres 2 and one of them as you can see on pic looks really bad. Ill be taking the truck to dealership tomorrow. Only has 3500 miles. No offroading or never hit a curve. So possible factory defect?

That's the seam of the layers making up the tire. Quite normal.

damn well thats helpful lol thanks. Learn something every day 😂. So shouldnt worry? What about having 2 on same tire, no cause for concern?

Some tires are made better than others. I have worked in different tire plants around the country, Continental is on the bottom of my list. Michelin is at the top. Just from what I have seen about the manufacturing process and the pay being more at some plants bring in better talent.

so thats normal in your opinion? This is new to me but if thats just how things are then ill save myself a trip to the dealership and risk having the service guy looking at me a weird type of way lol

If the dimple were across the tread and it caused a "thump-thump" as it went down the road, yes. Dimple on the sidewall where the rubber is thinner and that's why it shows, no.

I've seen it across all brands and I have tires that don't have it. I wouldn't worry. If you take it in for service later and want to mention it while you're there, feel free.

Factory spec tires are not the kind you find in the day-to-day world. They've been economized for profit and function. Many new tires to chose from, but sucks that you no longer feel safe driving with the sidewall construction dimples.

It's normal. Also, remember that Ford does not provide a warranty on tires, that is provided by the tire manufacturer.
