So call me crazy but when it comes time to order a Maverick I'm seriously considering adding the block heater to the order.

I'm in South West Ohio, so not exactly frozen, but it does get in to the single digits during the winter.

My current truck which is a diesel (yes I know, completely different situation) has it and I can tell you the difference on it is heat and thawed window in about 10 minutes vs 30 minutes on the highway before it finally blows anything above frost bite levels.

Since I'm considering a base Hybrid, which forgoes heated seats/wheel and remote start, and I can't park it inside I think a block heater to be instantly warm on those single digit days seems like a good idea to me.

What says the collective?

I ordered one, and I live in the Midwest. It is a cheap addition that will add value for the life of your truck.

It is a really cheap option, and really difficult to install post-build (especially on a Hybrid!). So why not, I say.

If you cannot park it inside and the temps dip to single digits, definitely get the heater.

My wife's 2018 ford fusion hybrid has one, and it is parked in the garage. We use it anytime we expect the temps to be below 60 degrees. For short trips in the hybrid it makes a noticeable difference in gas mileage, and it is nice to have heat much earlier in any drive in the cold. If it wasn't such a pain to install, I'd put one on my 2010 Ford fusion hybrid, when I order the Maverick Hybrid (hoping for hybrid AWD in 2023) I am getting it from the factory.

Exactly.

There's a large benefit for hybrids. Bringing heat up quick lets you EV sooner, permitting much better mileage on short trips in cold weather.
