So.... I have a Maverick Hybrid, love it.... I also work at a Ford dealership. ....And the chances of you getting a Raptor Bronco is about 0% in the first 2-3 years... and most likely never at or near MSRP. I have waited since day one when we ordered for my wifes Bronco, still dont have it. and we are getting ONE a year which will go for roughly 30k over. Your better off with the Mav, you will love it.

Ive had a 2 door Bronco on order for over a year now. It'll be 2025 before anyone real receives a raptor. Enjoy your Maverick until then.

I agree the very early Bronco models were pretty similar to the base XL Mav. My dad had a 66 Bronco and that’s what hooked me on the new Maverick.

That is what drew me to the Maverick. Imagine the New version of the Bronco half cab….I would imagine a beefy-er….Maverick.

I wanted a bronco base model, till I sat in a bronco badlands edition and test drove it. I wasnt pretty happy with the seating or dash layout. But thats just me. I wanted the base so I could modify it to suit, but the basic layout and seats werent gonna cut it. I was also looking at the maverick. I got the AWD on my order. Granted its less of an off roader than the bronco, but it has the capability I need for when we have our winter storms which is why i wanted the AWD in the first place. For my needs 98% of the time the bronco is actually a bit overkill. The fact that the maverick cannot be had as a stick shift is a bummer. It will be the first new vehicle for me with an automatic since 1987. The buy in on it with the Granger discount, and my farm Bureau membership put an XLT AWD 4K tow at around $24,670. A full $6000 cheaper for me than a bronco base, and still AWD. I say buy what you like, there is no wrong or right answer to this. No need to explain either. We all have our reasons for why we like certain vehicles. If you can afford it, and are happy, then dont let anybody Phoo phoo your good time.

The Bronco (Base) is what led me to the Maverick. I was pricing out a base 2dr Bronco. I think it was 28k and change. I figured with taxes I would be in the 30k range. Then while surfing I was seeing things about a new truck called Maverick. I thought that was a way better option for me. Then they dropped the bombshell about this new truck having the Hybrid engine as the base engine and it would be 20k.

I have not looked back, it's all Maverick Hybrid for me.

I did spend a little more than 20k but I am way under a base gas hog Bronco.

Man, that is awesome….
I really hope someday the stick will come back. In my option It makes driving much more enjoyable. I recent sold an 08 Audi A4 with a manual and sure miss the fun of driving.

Similar here. I learned to drive a stick on a friends brothers Blazer (yes, I know not the Bronco) and then my dad bought a Bronco w/the straight six (manual transmission).

Later, I bought it from my dad and had tons of fun in it.

Ironically, the hype on the Bronco is what got me here. I looked a bit at ordering one but quickly said F that due to the craziness of the process. But that had got me thinking about a new vehicle and it is then when I started reading about the upcoming Ford Maverick and Santa Cruz. When the Maverick was announced on June 8th I jumped in and ordered (June 11 was my official order date). Little did I know I would still be waiting 7+ months for it to be built. Just something about an "inexpensive" small but decently capable hybrid truck that intrigued me.

In the meantime, I decided to buy a Bronco Sport Badlands, mostly because I was tired of waiting on the Bronco and didn't want to put a bunch of $ into my old 2006 Subaru. It's a fun little thing - I'm not sure what I will end up doing when I finally get the Maverick, as I will have 4 vehicles w/2 drivers: 2022 Maverick Hybrid Lariat, 2021 Bronco Sport Badlands, 2015 F150 w/3.5 EB, 1994 Camaro Z28.

i knew that had to be others like me out there…. per the above post I need to order the Bronco and put down the downpayment. If it takes 4 years so be it….the downpayment in the back makes about the same amount of money as letting Ford hold on to it. I have a 3/4 ton diesel that currently fits my need for a 4x4. It is just too big and expensive to get too far off the beaten path. To put thing in perspective 70k doesn’t scratch the surface of todays diesel trucks.
There are some great fishing holes waiting to be found.

I’m sure this will take on a lot of critics, but seeing the details on the new Ford Bronco Raptor has cause me to ponder my decision to buy the Maverick. I have to start that my hart has always lead me to the early style Bronco. I unfortunately made the mistake of selling my 66 Bronco about 7 years ago. You might wonder why I made the error in judgement,. The reasoning behind it was I had to clear space in my two car garage for vehicles I use on a daily basis. The 66 had the 170 cubic inch motor, three on the tree, and a max speed of about 55 MPH.

anyway when the new Bronco was released I wasn’t too impressed. It really didn’t represent what I had in mind, thus I with the Maverick.what would really add to my desire, If the new Raptor addition would come with a 7 speed manual. The down side for sure is cost, 70k is a huge chunk oof cash that I don’t know that I’m will to commit. That is assuming a person can find a dealer to seek one without a markup above MSRP.

just wondering what others think of the Bronco Raptor addition. I’m assuming those with a FWD or the Hybrid could not relate with this consideration do to their driving needs. This consideration is more geared to the owners that are modifying their Maverick to be more tilted to off highway driving conditions.

they are totally different vehicles and serve a completely different purpose. I would keep the Maverick, and put my name on a list for the $80,000 raptor plus mark up and you will have it in about 2 years unless you want to pay $10,000 to $15,000 over sticker. That said I like the raptor bronco and think it will be great. Ford keeps hitting it out of the park

I can't imagine daily-ing a vehicle that's 87 inches wide with over a foot of suspension travel. Sure the Bronco (Raptor or any other trim) is a pretty cool thing, but this just seems like too much for paved roads. The sheer lunacy to cross shop a thing like this with a Mav...
