Hi. Yesterday we went to pick up our maverick and it too was part of fuel tank recall. The dealership took it back into service where the tech inspected it and took photos. The sales manager took me back into service where I got to see my truck up on the lift. Tech took photos and sent to ford. Thankfully my Maverick was not one of the bad ones. They reassembled and released it to me. This all was about a 4ish hour ordeal.
Best of luck. Enjoy your maverick.
I'm waiting for mine to be released by the dealer. They inspected the tank. There were no problems but now they tell me they have to replace two bolts for the driveshaft before they release it. I am in Canada and have to wait for two bolts from the USA. Could you let me know who was your dealer that got you in your truck before this foolishness? Happy New Year.

I’m waiting on the same bolts and have been told that they’re backordered, please post how you make out if your dealer gets them!

Yes indeed, my local dealer worked the recall on the one I ordered. They are now apparently waiting on Ford to send parts which is projected to arrive around Jan 24. WOWZER! Beautiful truck though and I cannot say enough good stuff about it. Stuff like this happens unfortunately in mass production.

not every truck in the recall actually had any damage to the tank, they are just being cautious about inspecting any/all that COULD have been damaged and chances are most will pass inspection and be fine (y)
Per Ford, 53% of those in the recall/hold will need tank replacement. Most will fail.

Yep and mine of course was one of them. I don't have much luck is seems when it comes to Ford and this Maverick. I am just grateful that they caught it up front and are fixing it.

Thank you. I'm still waiting for the parts and the truck but I agree it is a nice truck but I guess I will not be able to travel to Florida with it this winter. I'll have to wait until I come back in the spring.
They wouldn't release mine. That is why I was asking for the dealer to show it was worked out. Are you in he USA
Hi just found out this afternoon that the parts are back-ordered and when they get them I am the 440 one on the list for them. I guess that all those 5400 recalls will be parked until the backorder is filled. What is this with one-time use bolts??? I have another vehicle but others may not and Ford is blaming Covid 19. I'm not sure of this. I guess I will have to wait to ride my new Maverick!!!

Torque to yield bolts are very popular, especially in places where you never want the fastener to back out on its own. Instead of using thread lock you tighten the bolt a certain amount to stretch the threads. Once you take one of these bolts out they don’t have the ability to stretch again so you have to replace it. My VW uses them in a lot of places. I feel like that’s something that should have a lot of extra on hand, but I guess not lol.

Turns out mine has holes in the gas tank. The dealer has no idea how long it would take for a new one to come in. So I’m placing a new order today.

What do you mean “I am the 440 one on the list for them”?
