I wonder, would ACC be an after market option?
I remember reading about one kit that (allegedly) offered that. It looked like hobby grade components, and there's no way I'd ever trust my braking ability to something that looks like I could've glued it together.

Factory ACC has been retrofitted onto the previous gen F-150s, and the Fusion guys were attempting something similar. It could be possible for the Maverick, though whether it's worth it is another issue.

I only have experience with the adaptive cruise on my Peterbilt and it sucks. It might be better in something smaller but its not for me.
What is it about it that sucks?

Our adaptive cruise is connected to another product called Bendix Wingman. It has sensors to detect vehicles in blindspots and also vehicles in front of you. Monitors their distance and maintains speed accordingly. If someone were to cut in front of you and stay it will literally lock the brakes up. Ive had that happen several times. When we talked to the dealership about it we were told that its part of the programming and it cant be changed. Id be happy if it were just a regular cruise control.

I think that's a specialty product for heavy trucks -- designed to cut down accident liability for commercial truck fleets.

I appreciate your comments, but for me people's experiences with ACC in passenger vehicles and light trucks is probably more relevant.

Adaptive cruise control is one thing I wish I could have gotten on my XLT.

Without it, if I get boxed in behind a slower vehicle, I have to cancel cruise, then find an opening to accelerate around the obstruction, then resume cruise.

It would be nice if the cruise control could slow me down, then speed me back up again once I navigate around the slower car, without me having to do it manually.

I know, I know... it's not a big issue. I'm just saying it would be nice to have and I wish it had been available without having to step up another trim level.
It's a big issue! I have ACC on my subaru and it is a life, hip, and sanity saver (lots of commutes in LA and great on long road trips.) All Subarus have it and Subaru gets the 'we really care about your life' points.
Ford: Add this option to all models! It's a safety issue, do you care?
Thanks for letting me campaign on your post...

And I am ordering a Maverick, just stewing a bit that I have to get the (unwanted) Lariat package to get ACC.
