The Ford plant a Hermosillo has a capacity of 300,000 vehicles a year(25K a month)

Hermosillo Stamping and Assembly plant in Mexico where the Maverick will be built has a capacity of 300k vehicles per year. Which translates to about 800 vehicles per day. This plant also produces the bronco sport and I believe the escape/corsair. I wonder how much capacity is going to go towards mavericks vs bronco sports as those are selling very well right now.

Thats why there's 7 weeks of Maverick production scheduled so they can try to catch up on the back log

Neither comment is accurate. The full size Bronco isn’t built in the same factory as the Maverick. Any suspension in production of the Bronco has little to no bearing on the Maverick production.

The Bronco Sport is still in production at the Hermosillo factory. The Maverick is scheduled 7 weeks out because that is how far Ford is scheduling builds. Sure, Ford is working on backlog for many of its retail orders (across many vehicles) but correlation isn’t causation.

Been there, seen that, they run both at the same time. The Kia plant in Georgia runs Tellurides, Sorentos, & K5's one right after the other. This is very common in today's auto & truck plants.
