Well, this kind of put a damper on things. Anyone else seen this? First started cycling between the two warnings just before I got to work this morning. Came out after work and the warnings were gone. Drove for about 50 miles no issues doing some errands, and then it started cycling between these two warnings again. I know the manual says it may do some irregular things for the first 1000 miles, but this is a little concerning (not even at 500 yet). I have an appointment after Christmas to have it checked out, just to be sure. No off-roading (or soft-roading), mainly just back and forth to work so far.

I have an Ecoboost FWD and at 400 miles I had all the warning lights come on. Ford scanned for codes and found nothing. It happened again last week at 2066 miles and again scanned for codes. Tech said it could be loose wires or wires rubbing together. This happened about 3 hrs from home. Have been driving and so far no issues to report.

Drivetrain malfunction reduced power notification here. After dinner it was gone and hasn't come back in 200+ miles. Service guy said to keep eye on it. Was not concerned and thought just a ghost in the system.

The "Drivetrain Malfunction/Reduced Power" is what shows up now in Alerts in my FordPass App (x2 now). Only thing it says on the driver display alerts in the truck is what was above. Interesting.....

Yeah, I'm definitely keeping that appointment to let them check it out. I'm hoping it is just this:
Ford Maverick PTU Failure @ ~400 miles: AWD Fault - Service Required. 1640311452228

Manual also says it will do same after disconnecting the battery (but only for about 5 miles).
Ford Maverick PTU Failure @ ~400 miles: AWD Fault - Service Required. 1640311570283

Hopefully that is all it is and we are just getting the gremlins out.

The second time this happened, the Ford tech said the vehicle was safe to drive and it wouldn't leave me stranded.

I wouldn't consider a computer code unusual driving characteristics.

That said, I hope it gets ironed out soon and under warranty.

I haven't gotten anything at all yet.... hopefully it doesn't happen. But I did just have a transmission go on my work van after 50k miles.

But I expect there to.be some.issued and recall over the first year or 2. Comes with the territory when you get a BRAND NEW model. Always some bugs to work out

I have this same message in my Ford app and the message "service vehicle soon" on the display in the Mav. After I started the Mav, the message on the display disappeared. I have not talked to a Ford mechanic yet.

Same here. Each time I start the truck again it has cleared, but eventually will come back on again after driving around and pop the warning screens in the truck and another notification in my Ford App. I've got a running stream of them pretty much every time I drive the Maverick.

Got my Maverick back today after spending 2 days with Ford Service Techs (Ford provided a rental). They were able to duplicate the caution alerts and diagnose it down to a faulty actuator in the Power Transfer Unit (PTU). The PTU is of course on backorder - but said it was safe to drive until the part comes in to be swapped out. Not real sure what a PTU is but is something like the AWD version of a transfer case that figures out where to distribute the power to the wheels if I'm understanding it right. My first AWD - so it's a learning curve.

PTU Power Transfer Unit It is the coupler that transfers the power to the rear wheels. When you have a fault in the PTU you are front wheel drive only.

Thank you @jalbano2 . Well, I guess won't be doing any softroading for now. 😆 Figured it was something like that but didn't realize it was FWD only. I'll have to switch over to the power meter display and see if it shows that too or still "thinks" it is sending power to the rear.

Definitely do that. I was going to suggest that. Let us know what it shows.
