Hello Maverick owners and forum users in Canada,

The Ford Maverick is a dream future vehicle for me as I have always liked the idea of owning & driving a pickup truck, but due to impracticality with my current needs, bad gas milage etc, I decided I I really didn't need one. Now that the Maverick has come out, and has made a good name for compact trucks with good gas milage for both the AWD & Hybrid FWD I am interested in one for a future vehicle.

However I have to ask for those of you in Canada who own either the AWD eco boost and FWD hybrid engine options, on a fully fuelled tank driving for long distances on the highway how far can you go before needing to refuel? My current ride is a 1999 Honda Accord sedan, 2.3L engine DX trim. Very good condition for its age, still good gas milage and has 154,000KM on it. I decided to find out its max range & gas milage on a full tank when I went on a long holiday trip a few days ago, which was all long highway driving.

I filled it up with 57 litres (15 gallons) max capacity. By the time I need to refuel (I was two needle widths from empty, and while I had 24 KM to go until another gas station I decided not to risk it for fear of running out) I has gotten to 547.8KM on the odometer. This pretty good for my car, especially being an older one as cruise control was a help. Considering this was winter where vehicles engines & systems have to work harder, I will have to do another long trip in summer to see how it differs.

The Hybrid is rated for 7L/100km at highway speeds, with a 52L tank, do the math to get a ballpark figure.

My first tank I went 500 miles in the Ecoboost, with about 35 miles to spare. That is about 700km. Was just over 30mpg total.

I have approx. 7500 km's on my 2.0 ecoboost Maverick.
Most I ever got with a tank was 732 km's.
Probably averaging between 650 and 700.

That's actually 800km so even better. (1.6km per mile)

Now that's pretty fuel efficient and quite the range for a crossover pickup truck with the basic gasoline engine & AWD. Thats 153 KM more than what my 99' Accord at the moment, although it was winter driving so I will have to see what it can do in the summer.

30mpg to KM is 48.8km per gallon which seems effciant as well. Thanks for commenting your results.

Ecoboost I've got 700km with mixed 30% city and 70% highway. That's max. Mostly 650 km when I'm doing more city.

But that's still pretty awesome. I have a 75l tank in my equinox and I get about 700 on a tank with 85% highway. So 700km on 52l. Is way better.
