I'm in Eastern Canada and we picked up our Maverick Hybrid last October. We purchased 4 Winter Studded tires on some Black FX4 wheels and the truck did awesome last winter. My wife drove it to work most of the time and we averaged about 7L per 100km for the entire winter which included letting the truck warm up for about 10minutes every morning before going to work and in the afternoon once she was done work.
As soon as the weather warmed up, we saw a nice jump in our fuel mileage and we are now averaging 5.6L per 100km.
I towed our 2 sleds on several trips over the winter and averaged 10L per 100km while towing and the truck had no problem towing them at highway speed.
It would be nice to have AWD, but with a good set of studded tires, I found the truck quite capable.
