We wanted to give you guys a closer look at the S&B Cold Air Intake for the '22-'24 Ford Maverick, and it's easy to see why it's become one of the most popular intake upgrades available.
Designed to increase airflow over the factory intake while maintaining excellent filtration, the S&B system delivers an engine bay appearance that's a huge upgrade to factory.
If you've been considering an intake upgrade for your Maverick, check out the video and let me know what you think.
Available Part Numbers:
2022-2024 Ford Maverick, 2.0L L4 EcoBoost
- 75-5161: S&B Cold Air Intake with Cleanable 8-Ply Cotton Filter
- 75-5161D: S&B Cold Air Intake with Dry Disposable Filter
- KF-1057: S&B Intake Cotton Cleanable Replacement Filter
- KF-1057D: S&B Intake Dry Extendable Replacement Filter
- WF-1057: S&B Filter Wrap (also called pre-filter)
- 88-0008: S&B Precision II Filter Cleaning Kit (makes the filter red)
- 88-0009: S&B Precision II Filter Cleaning Kit (makes the filter blue)
As far as maintenance, S&B engineers their filters to last, but when it's time for cleaning, they should be serviced with the S&B Precision II Cleaning Kit designed specifically for the filter media. Using the recommended cleaning kit helps maintain the filter's performance, protects the filter media, and keeps it eligible under S&B's warranty program. It's a simple step that helps ensure your intake continues performing as intended for years to come. Choose either the Red or Blue cleaning kit, both do the same job but give you the option to match your aesthetic.
When cleaning the cotton filter for the Maverick will require 70 grams of oil. The cleaning kit comes with enough cleaner and oil to service your filter 5 times. If you get the intake with the cleaning kit, we recommend getting the cleaning kit so that you have it when you need to service your filter, and there’s no extra shipping cost when you order them together.
If you go with the dry extendable filter, it can be serviced by blowing air backwards through the filter to clear debris and extend its life, and that can be done up to 3 times.
The filter wrap, or pre-filter, can be used with the cotton cleanable filter or dry extendable, and is recommended for people who drive in dusty environments, to extend time between cleanings. The filter wrap will reduce air flow by around 3%, but some people feel that’s worth it to extend their cleaning intervals in those environments.
As always, if you have questions about fitment, filter options, or current forum promotions, feel free to send me a DM and I'll be happy to help.
