OMG, Ford is falling apart identifying parts that need to be addressed due to safety all before many years of litigation and lawsuits and ....
Oh wait, that's a good thing, Thanks Ford

It says in the letter what the problem is.

It sounds like there are thicker plates welded to the body for seatbelt bolts, and these come with a pre-formed hole that later gets tapped. The pre-formed holes may be too large, which means that the threads on the eventual tapped hole would have flat spots at the top of the threads.

Sounds like an annoying thing to fix. And my build week is right in the middle of the date range, so it seems pretty likely I'll be getting a recall notice...

Retired Ford Dealer Service Advisor here. Dealers will get information about what to do and what parts are needed sometime the week of January 3rd, doesn't mean parts will be available anytime soon. I've seen recalls come out and parts not available for a very long time, example was air bag canisters. Don't get mad at the dealer, they have little or no control.

It's supposed to be repaired/replaced by the dealer before you take delivery. The notice makes it seem like a quick job.

I would assume this is a robot.
Some Human Being had to program that Robot to make the hole and thread it. When a machine makes a mistake - there is ALWAYS a human behind the issue.

I'm in the same boat, I guess we will find out eventually.
