Finally able to post a new thread on here! It's been a while lol. Along with a quick review and pictures, I also made an installation video that I posted on YouTube.

The lip itself was surprisingly sturdy for being only $110. I imagine the fact that it was 3 piece allowed the company to save a ton on shipping costs compared to one piece lips. I will say 2 things annoyed me: 1. The lack of instructions. It was pretty straightforward, so I was able to figure it out HOWEVER... This leads me to annoyance 2. The hardware. In order to piece it together, you need to use the provided screws. Those screws were far too long and poked through the front side of the lip. I mention this in the Youtube video, and I worked around it by stacking the provided plastic washers so the screw length was shortened. This could have also been prevented had they just given shorter screws or gave instructions if I missed something. Luckily, you can't really see where the screw poked through the lip as it was on the under side and not visible. I know it's there though lol.

My only other concern is how long the gloss black finish will last. Hopefully for a long time, but only time will tell. Regardless, to get a lip that's similar in design to the Air Designs lip (no, it is not a copy, as there are differences in the shape from what I can tell) at this price point is pretty awesome. You can see the seams where the pieces come together if you get somewhat close, which doesn't bother me cause it looks OEM. If that bugs you, then I wouldn't recommend it. Overall, a solid 7.9/10!

Here's the install video if you'd like further instruction should you decide to buy it!

I didn't even know this existed until about a month ago. I tried to see if anyone had ordered it on here and found nothing. So, hopefully this can be another option for those that want something similar to an Air Designs lip on a budget!

Lower valence lips always remind me of a certain movie....maybe it's just me....

The lip doesn’t lower the truck at all overall. It appears a tiny bit lowkey cause it does bring the middle section down an inch or two. The low points you see are sitting right where the OEM bumper already comes down to where those little bumps are on the sides. If you watch the video, you’ll see what I mean.

Regardless, to you older guys (I’ve seen you complain about other mods before on this forum) if it’s not for you then fine. But don’t spread misinformation just because you don’t like it. I’ve had it on a week and park over curbed parking spaces just fine. Even with my truck sitting on lowering springs. Even then though, some folks don’t care about that and just pay attention to the way they park as a sacrifice to liking that lowered look.

Looks better than I expected.

a few thoughts
  • The seams between the 3 sections don't stand out as much as I expected
  • The 3-piece design could be for cheaper mold tooling. A single-piece design could have challenges due to the size and the undercuts as it wraps around into the wheel well.
  • The self-drilling tip indicates those screws are not intended for plastics. Probably for sheet metal. The incremental cost for correct hardware should have been trivial. I hope no other corners were cut.
Thanks for sharing. I'll probably get the flat black (unpainted?) version at some point.

Expanding on your thoughts:

1. It was a shock to me too. I thought it would bug me a little but I don’t even notice them at all. If you were to paint match, I think even then you still wouldn’t notice so long as the painting is don’t right.
2. I didn’t even think of that too. The single piece ones like air designs definitely have challenges and as someone who’s been a part of the molding process with my Focus (I helped create an ST rear bumper valance for the sedans) there were plenty of challenges with bigger pieces. It’s a mission and expensive to do.
3. That’s exactly what I thought too and was my biggest gripe about the whole setup. 4 screws that fit properly cannot be that hard to find. If I wasn’t in a rush from excitement and it wasn’t a Sunday, I’d have gone to ace hardware to get the right ones. Luckily I found a work around but at least my mistake can help others now.

Definitely post pics in here once you get it! I’d love to see!

I put one of these of my truck a couple weeks ago. I used a texturizing spray that was recommend on one of the face book groups to get it match the OEM trim a little more closely. I attached mine with the OEM hardware in the wheel wells and used 3M tapeon the top of the lip where it meets the grille opening. Several hundred miles of interstate driving and no issues so far.

I like, too bad none exist for the 25+ XLT+ yet. Only XL so far. I'm not paying Air Design prices. I already bought the roof and gate spoiler.

Keep in mind that it took 3 years for the eBay version to come out for the 22-24. I'm sure somehting for the 25+ will drop, it's just going to take time.
