Change of plans, today I ordered
PIRELLI
SCORPION AS PLUS 3
Crossover & SUV Tire
in 225/60R18

Seems the defender 2 is being upgraded to a 3 so no local stock left.

I’ve never had Pirellis, they have a long racing and civilian history.
Plus I get a 60 day try out with a no questions asked 100% return If I don’t like em.
Odd I know.
$675 for all four plus either $150 visa gift card or $160 in Ford rewards points.
I’m taking the points.

So that’s $675-$160=$515.00
Plus the mounting, balancing and old tire disposal fee.

I’ll update on the final outcome. The new shoes go on next Wednesday.

I looked at tons of reviews from owners and overall in all categories they scored higher than the Defender 2’s

I’m staying with my stock size so I don’t increase the weight or rolling resistance.
I don’t need the fat tire look.

We shall see, I like taking a risk on something new now and then.

12/32 tread depth compared to my stock primacy’s with their 9/32 new depth.

Long time user of Michelin Defender tires. I opted for the original Defender (LTX M/S). The Defender 2 lost the Mud & Snow rating (and the XL rating). I have had 4 sets of Defenders, each getting over 100k miles on other vehicles. Never been disappointed with these tires.

How long ago did you buy those? I can't seem to find a Defender LTX in your 235/60R-18 size.

They were discontinued when the Defender 2 came out. My connection told me I got the last 4 at the warehouse. That was back in 2023 and I got them for less than $300. (50% off).
