Didn't see the poll when it came out. But I purchased my Maverick in May 2025. As of today, December 13, 2025 I have just over 24,400 Miles. I have a 90 mile round trip daily work commute. That's in addition to my other weekend and miscellaneous driving.
Damn dude, the shortest route to work for me 72 miles one way and 92 miles using the longest route. I was strongly considering consolidating down to 1 vehicle but at 45,000 miles a year I would have to stick to one, cheap vehicle and throw it away every 5-6 years.

Still, I only drive my Maverick into work once or twice a week and use it exclusively for personal use, not including when I drive into NYC to visit friends where I drive my smaller Fusion.

Regardless, I got my Maverick at the end of June 2025 and I am on track to hit 12,000 miles with it by the months end.

Yikes! I'm probably going to either fix the old Pontiac Grand Prix in my backyard. My brother may sell me his old 2002 ranger for cheap. To save some wear and tear on the MAVERICK. But the MAVERICK has me so spoiled with the gas mileage.

Yeah I got my Fusion certified pre owned in 2020 with 39,000 miles and it already has 210,000 miles. The mileage would probably be over 300,000 miles now if I wasn't driving my Mustang heavily for 5 months of the year.

The hybrid really makes the busines case as a field service vehicle. Hybrids are made to rack up loads on nonstop travel miles with all the reliability & lack of fanfare of a toaster, & do it cheaply so you make $ on the mileage reimbursement.
A smaller less robust version of the Mav hybrid drivetrain, Escape hybrid, regularly got 300,000 miles on the drivetrain as NYC taxis.

If you arent hauling alot of stuff around with you, a hybrid sedan or AWD crossover would save even more gas costs, but for no fuss commuting the hybrid drivetrains with just regular fluid changes outlast the sheetmetal and plastic trim inside the car. Mechanically simple, few moving parts to wear out. And because the starter & alternator are part of the 400volt drivetrain you never have to replace the starter & alternator, 12VDC battery has much less current draw with no 12vdc starter to crank in cold weather so same battery would last longer in a hybrid vs conventional poẁertrain.

TBH, I am considering picking up a certified pre-owned Escape Hybrid in 2-3 years if Ford plans to discontinue them. I stuck with the 2.0 Turbo on the Maverick as I liked its performance over the hybrid and was concerned my mostly highway driving wouldn't give the fuel economy I was expecting.

I mostly freeway drive but I try to stay 65mph and below & my average at 14k miles is 39.3mpg I was nicely at 43mpg average then cold weather.
Even if you got the same mpg as conventional, the drivetrain will go 200,000 miles easy with fluid changes & highway driving, no clutch plates to wear out, it has 2 coolant tanks 1 for engine 1 for inverter & battery,

I would be vigilant about good coolant for inverter & battery the inverter & motor-generator will outlast the ICE engine, 1st thing to degrade will be traction battery, Prius with passive air cooling my traction battery lasted 250,000 miles, a rebuilt traction battery was $2500 and can be DIY replaced in a garage with just basic electric tools IF you have some electrical training - not physically difficult but 400VDC line voltage can kill you if you are not following electrical safety precautions.

Maverick traction battery replacemmt is a bit more involved than Prous it has liquid cooling lines need primed & flushed, but battery replacement is significantly cheaper & less involved than a torque-converter transmission replacement.

Does Your Tremor get over 30 MPG on Highway Trips?

Oh my God, I wish, the best I was ever able to get on a tank driving mostly highway was 23.5 MPG on a whole tank. I was averaging 78 MPH for most of the trip but it wasn't stop or go, traffic, etc. Recently I just stopped worrying about it and I am getting closer to 20-21.5 MPG on average.

That's why I have been on the fence with a hybrid, I am going to lose power and acceleration compared to the 2.0L Turbo but I am unsure if the hybrid will give me such fuel economy. It's part of the reason I decided against the Maverick Hybrid. I drive mostly highway in my commute to work but I average between 75-90 MPH for a good portion of my commute.

I just don't see the hybrid doing much for me at those speeds.

I got 30 mpg on mine on the Highway at 65- 70 MPH not almost 80 MPH!! :)

I'm just hair under 12,000 miles right now. Bought my truck in March. I've made a few statewide road trips with it which added probably 2000 extra miles. Next week I'm driving to Portland to visit family for the holidays and when I get back I'll probably be just hitting 12,500 miles. I'm predicting I'll hit 15,000 miles when I hit my one year of ownership. Hindsight being 20/20 I think the hybrid would've served me better because of the mileage I drive (better mpg), but the AWD was necessary because of the weather in my region of the state.

You still would have saved with the hybrid. But since you got a tremor, you couldn’t have gotten that in a hybrid anyway. And people who get a tremor do so because they like the Tremor. That probably took Priority over fuel economy anyway.

You probably would have gotten about 28-29 mpg even at 75-80. I have noticed that the biggest drop-off seems to occur at about 65 . I think that’s about when there’s no more pure electric driving

The best I ever got was 28 MPG but that was just briefly, soon as I hit the mountains I was back down below 24 MPG. I said to myself, if it takes considerable conscious effort to get just 23.5 MPG, it's not worth it.

You still would have saved with the hybrid. But since you got a tremor, you couldn’t have gotten that in a hybrid anyway. And people who get a tremor do so because they like the Tremor. That probably took Priority over fuel economy anyway.
Well if I knew for a fact I would get 38 MPG while maintaining the acceleration of the Turbo, I would have gone for the hybrid and got a lift installed with beefier tires. I knew the Tremor would be the worst to get for fuel economy and accepted that but if I got the hybrid, had to give up that sweet turbo and the off road features of the Tremor just to get say 28-30 MPG, I would have been pissed.

Every car I owned always got considerably less than the rated fuel economy. My Chevy Sonic with the 1.4 Turbo was rated 40 MPG on the highway, I got 28 MPG. My Fusion was rated for 30 MPG Highway, I get 22 MPG Highway on average, sometimes 23 MPG if I am lucky.

The only car that wowed me with its fuel economy and got its rated fuel economy, plus some, was my 2012 Ford Mustang. That 3.7L V6 and 6 Speed Automatic would get 31-33 MPG on 87 Octane running with cruise control on the highway if I did under 75 MPH.

I don't race from stop light to stop light nor do I follow people close enough to have to hit my brakes every 30 seconds but when traffic allows, cruise speed for me is 80 MPH and I doubt any hybrid is giving me upwards of 40 MPG at those speeds.
