I'm in the process of replacing the rear seat with a storage platform or cubby. Interested to see other people's solutions.

Full extension 48" pull-out?
Modular containers?
Commercially available containers with attachment capability like Milwaukee?
Plain Jane platform and rear wall cover?
Rear platform and matching height front extension with front passenger seat removal?
Just an L-shaped plywood assembly sitting on the rear seat and back?

I put a small plywood sheet over the rear sear seat, installed 2 1"x1" legs in the front and a 2'x4' between the plywood and the most aft portion of the rear seat (it slopes down). Add some carpet padding and I have a deck large enough for my 2 Golden Retrievers.
Underneath in the foot wells is a great place to store stuff out of view
Got people passengers? out it comes in less than 5 minutes.
However...I do have tons of dog drool along the outside body below the rear windows. Good thing my truck is white.

I’ll readily admit that I like dogs more than a lot of people, so I went full commit on a dog couch for my 2 Great Pyrenees 🙂

I pulled the seat and seatback out. The seat was replaced with plywood that has cutouts to access storage, with foam dog bed placed on top. For the seatback, I added rock wool insulation, wrapped in tyvek, behind 3/8” plywood board with a foam yoga mat glued to it. I think the cabin is quieter than it was with the seat in it!

A websearch turned up a few deletes, some have already been posted on this or other Maverick forums.
I think I'll copy this concept with a few tweaks:
Ford Maverick Show us your Rear Seat Delete! 1748017403533-x6

I'll do flush or hidden hinges, and maybe an open shelf on the upper section of the rear cover. Likely have one of the underseat covers lockable.
This particular set-up is commercially available for about $1200 (!)

Inquired at Goose -Gear. They are interested in making one for the Maverick, and are looking at getting someone with a Maverick for R&D . Let them know who is interested . www.goosegear.com.

I'm late in on this thread, but I am thinking of doing something similar to my 2025 XL 2.0. Is it safe to assume that the computer doesn't throw any hissy fit alarms related to seat occupancy or seat belt use with the rear seat removed? I got a couple of extra nag displays I needed to dismiss yesterday just from having the seat bottom in raised position when I did grocery shopping.

I really like the idea of this, but I also use my backseat as a changing room after races, and I don't think I want to try changing my clothes back there without a seat. That said, it would work really well for me otherwise because I normally fold the seat up and put my racing gear + boots, and beverage cooler back there on the way to the races.

EDIT: maybe if I could add a small fold down "jump seat"on one side to use for changing or occasional passengers it would work for me. 🤔

If you aren't concerned with sophistication, you could just throw a low folding lawn/camp chair in there.

I would just want to remove my rear seat to save weight. Not to add more. :p

Who needs passengers anyway. They just tend to talk over the music and distract from the driving experience overall.

I've been able to scoot back and recline the driver seat to change for runs when needed. Never tried in the back seat.
