Hi all. I took my 2025 Maverick XLT AWD hybrid on a three-week cross country trip in October to the West and Southwest. Starting from my home in Northeast Ohio I traveled through 19 states. The trip included seeing Mount Rushmore, Sturgis and Deadwood, a four-day stay in Yellowstone National Park (Geysers, grizzlies, bison and elk!), Montana, Idaho, Utah and the return leg south to Arizona and back east largely along Route 66.

The Maverick was comfortable and performed like a champ. I averaged about 34 mpg overall ... less climbing no-guardrail mountain passes and on 80 mph interstates.

I was grateful to not drive off the awesome and terrifying mountain roads or get attacked by the bison, elk and grizzlies I saw in Yellowstone. (I was disappointed in not seeing any wolves.)

The photo (that I hope I properly attached) shows the Maverick outside Jackson, Wyoming, near the National Elk Refuge.

Think I would have disagree with you on Route 66. There is a lot left and getting better. We have been on 66 a few times always something new. Next year is the 100th anniversary of the road, and we will be on it in September.

Sounds like you had a great trip. We have been on 3 road trips this year. We were also at White Sands, and Roswell plus we stopped at the gate of Area51. I have a 2023 Area51 Maverick. If your out about next year September on 66 might see you. Take care and enjoy the Maverick.

I wonder if the 2025 are more comfortable than my 2023… I was hoping the lariat would have better seats… now when I get into someone’s Enclave or moderately nice suv they are more cushy… except Toyota lol

I am glad to hear 66 is getting better.it was great 30 years ago, but lost a lot to interstates and bypasses 15 years ago. I hope they really do it proud for the anniversary! I am getting ready for a road trip! It's a lot further from Mississippi than it was from Texas! Santa Rosa was always one of our favorite stops!

I had to go check my garage, see if my 2023 Mav Area51 with visors, mud flaps still there…not taken. It’s still park inside! LoL.
