She also refused to drive my old Frontier cause she couldn't shift the column gearing. Don't know her reasons for not driving the Maverick. I guess some day I will. Anybody else have this happen to them? What did you do? Jump for joy or goad her into trying?
With 69k miles on my 2022 Mav, my wife has never sat in the drivers seat. Backseat driving is more her style anyway. lol. She has a Subaru Outback Touring which is very nice. I don't mind.

My wife refuses to drive my Mav, too. She seems to fear all the electronic doohickies.
The electronic doohickies are definitely an impediment to my husband's enjoyment of driving the Mav (it's a 2025 XLT) or any vehicle with a touch screen menu. To name one, I warned him the co-pilot 360 will alert him if it determines a risk of collision, forwards or changing lanes. That and consistently finding how to get to the radio so he can listen to his football and baseball games. (Yes, the stations have been set . . . now). Honestly, you wouldn't believe how long it took me to persuade him that he really needed to switch to a smart phone and thought he might be at risk of being buried with his flip phone given his druthers. :cwl:

LOL Wife really wanted ours and it's her daily, I daily drive the Miata. Every once in a while we switch if I need the truck.
Same. I really wanted the Mav and he really likes driving a car with stick shift.

Wife drove hers from so cal to okc. She drives it more than her escalade because its easier to park. Bought her the maverick , so she doesn't drive my raptor like a maniac.

Now you don't have to adjust your seat and mirrors as often!

My wife expects me to not just touch, but to drive her in her Maverick.

Her kitchen and laundry appliances, however, I'm only allowed to touch under two circumstances:
1) I'm installing them, and
2) I'm fixing them.

I'm barely allowed to get something from the refrigerator myself!

[fortunately, I took her old refrigerator when I bought this one, and can get beer there!]
🤣🤣🤣🤣

My wife drove the Mav once, shortly after i got it. It replaced the Toyota hybrid i had been driving for the previous 7 years and was always intended to be "my" truck. While she can drive it anytime she would like, she chooses not to. She likes tiny cars and to her, the Mav is pretty big. She drove a smart from 2008-2013, then a Fiat 500 from 2013-2015, then another smart from 2015-2021. During the Pandemic she hardly drove at all and i had got her a BMW I3. In 2024 she got a 2012 Scion IQ with 65K miles on it. That is her go to car. She also has a JDM RHD Suzuki Alto Works Turbo Kei car and a Jeep Renegade for whenever the snow flies.

I find those a pain, but I. can drive both.

The nuisance is that I have to take off my boots and put on tennis shoes, as the leather soles slide al over the roofs when I strap them on!

Left foot on the smart, and right on the fiat; they feel funny when you put them on backwards . . .

😜

[Just kidding; as long as they have sunroofs, I can drive either. I just need to strap on the saddle, and attache the rings to the controls . . .]

My wife has her own Mav, but seldom drives it So I get to drive both of them.

Finally decided which one is my other ride, wife’s HPR 24 Maverick hybrid. But my main rides not the carbonized gray Maverick, as I traded it for a 25 eruption green Hybrid Maverick hybrid today. So now I’m on my 4th Maverick.

Sounds like a good problem to have.

That's some funny stuff i LOL'd when i read it. But honestly the smart is a pretty good little car, especially since it is engineered and built by Mercedes Benz. Never had any problems with the ones we owned, and they got 50+ MPG. Also, you can fit 2 half kegs of beer in the cargo area. (ask me how i know..LOL)
