I haven't used this exact one but I have The Rag Company synthetic clay sponge. Synthetic clay sponges or pads, like the one you used, are a must have for anyone who likes to detail they're vehicles.

Natural clay definitely picks up contamination from the paint better but has a higher risk of scratching/marring vs synthetic clay. The pores of the sponges are nice because it gives the contamination a place to go instead of dragging across the paint.

Yes, I have been using their products for a long time. All of their line of products work great. I use the foaming window cleaner on road trips.

I have the same one. Been using Griot's Garage for many years. I use it with their speed shine. Works great and when done I just wash off the synthetic bar and it's brand new. Their ceramic wax is also excellent

I've used this exact product, once on my 25 Maverick, and once each on the other two family cars, did a great job on all 3. Supposedly these things are good for about 25 cars before loosing their effectiveness.

This claybar removed a surprising amount of gunk from that a few month old Maverick, but the dealership it came from is a few hundred feet from I-95. Chatting with their detailer, he mentioned he sees a noticeable difference in vehicles he clay bars from that dealership and the others along that same service road.

Haven't used Griot's but have been using Meguiar's for about 20 years. I use just the clay bar and a bottle speed shine for lubricant. I may have to try Griot's.

I used one that was very similar from Mequiars. While it initially worked well, it picked up some tar that hadn't been removed, and became useless after short time. I had to replace it with a real clay bar.

Never used this particular product but I’ve used Griot’s products for years, especially love their Speed Shine. Great lubricant for Clay bar and polishing pads.

I have the same bar for my Mav and my wifes Bronco spot. I love it,,,

BTW, if you drop it in a sawdust filled garage, rinse it before use. Caught it fast, minor scratch.

Its a great tool.
