I messaged BAK on Saturday to see when they will start shipping X4S. I'll post when/if they respond. I know back when I ordered from realtruck in early October Bak was saying shipment would start in early December. These may all just be automated emails since they have sat on backorder long enough.

I highly doubt it I saw a few people that has it already on their maverick. It’s either they didn’t process it on time or just simply don’t have it in stock. But to have people waiting for 2 months we’ll mine will be 3 months next week. Per email I will not get mine till January. That’s 5 months in the making. I think I will cancel mine I’m tired of waiting and they keep changing dates.

That email was a response from Bak industries themselves not from the resellers like realtruck.com or bakflip.com. I've yet to see any x4s pic I've seen x2 and mx based ones.

I ordered the trifold mx4. The guy that did the reverse light and radar detector has the mx4 trifold. Mine was scheduled several weeks ago and they keep changing every Friday : (

I went to BakFlip.com and ordered an X4s over the chat. List price was $1,048.88. Their "chat line Cyber Monday" price was $943.99.

I mentioned that I saw a chat log on MaverickTruckClub with a price of $839.10 and asked if they could do that. The answer was "Yes we can honor that at Forum pricing." I have no idea what "Forum pricing" is, but I took it.

Now I'll wait to see if they can actually deliver. Chat also said I can cancel with no costs as long as order hasn't been shipped.

Good advice. I mainly ordered this just to have something suitable in line while I look at other stuff that might be easier to actually get hold of.

BTW, mine came to $912.11 with tax and free delivery. Without your chat tip it would have been $100 more, so thanks for that.

After looking at reviews the BakFlip 4Xs fit what I was looking for. I went online and chatted with Lee @ BakFlip on November 11th, I was led to believe that the cover would ship soon. He never mentioned there was a delay. I went a while with nothing happening. I checked with them again... I was told there was a lead time and was told there was an estimated 20 day delay in manufacturing... Now I am seeing where some of you are saying it is delayed into the first part of next year. This is seriously disheartening. Some people are saying that have been waiting for months.... that sounds pretty brutal. Looking at their site now, it shows to be unavailable. Time to start researching again. I'm not getting a warm fuzzy feeling.

I've never owned a truck but I'm a bit surprised at the pricing on covers. Some of the cloth ones in the $300-$500 range make sense for the most part to me but I don't get how some of these are $1k+. I know the hard rollup is very different in design and cost compared to the trifold but they are priced almost the same so I'm a bit lost on that.

They aren't exactly made of rare materials and frankly with no prior experience I would have thought you'd see fiberglass in the $1500 range.

839.10+tax with free shipping is pretty reasonable though which might explain it.

If you really want sticker shock check out what they want for a fiberglass shell like the official Ford type. $3k+ Yikes!
