I don’t have a VIN since I don’t believe my order is in production yet. At least the dealer or FORD hasn’t let me know. I was concerned the dealer was being shady as I don’t trust any dealer I’ve ever worked with. I think I was mistaken on this possibly being my order.Do you have a VIN number ? If so go check and see if that's yours up there
What if a window sticker does not say "special order" says nothing? I ask because after reading this thread I decided to check my dealer's website. They have a vehicle listed that is not mine but very similar. I was thinking of just buying the one they have listed, instead of waiting for mine(build date 12/13). Trying to determine if it is someone else's order or can I pounce on it!!Bottom center. This is the window sticker that the OP linked to.

One thing I noticed on your order form is that you're priority is listed as 19, which is very low for an order. This could be one of the reasons why a stock order was selected over your retail order, another reason could be the LUX package you have. Ford is building with the LUX package, but at a lower percentage rate than non-LUX package. I would certainly call your salesperson and demand your priority number be changed to 10, which is the lowest level a dealership can do. That will increase your changes of your build getting selected the next time your dealership gets allocations.
Middle bottom of the window stickerIf I remember correctly it was on the bottom right hand side
If it says nothing it's a stock order for the dealer. Here's an example I pulled from a dealer that is about 8 miles away from me. I found it when I did a search on Fords website. What if a window sticker does not say "special order" says nothing? I ask because after reading this thread I decided to check my dealer's website. I think it is a stock order..I guess my new truck will be here about 45 days early if I can grab this one. I bet not many can say that!If it says nothing it's a stock order for the dealer. Here is a screen cap showing that it is dealer ordered and the VIN.

Here is the sticker for the vehicle. As you can see the sticker is blue and it does not say special order at the bottom.

Yikes!I think it is pretty obvious at this point that Ford has been delivering stock to at least some dealers before customer pre-orders. It is unfortunate that this industry is so scummy. The dealer model of selling and delivering cars needs to go away. And dozens of new car companies need to be created for real competition. The supply chain needs deep investigation and a breakup of the oligarchs that currently control all base materials.
If that's the case where'd the 20% below MSRP margin go? .........from 80 to 100% perhapsThat's true about a bunch of dealerships. Without huge markups they aren't making money!
So the small world and funny note is that I called this dealer and asked about your maverick. I was told that the customer had picked it up by a confused or non-sober sales person. So why would the dealer have the vehicle I ordered on their website. Are they taking orders from customers to fill their lot? I ordered over 3 months ago and have checked and they told me it isn’t scheduled to be built yet. So getting tired of waiting I decided to search local inventory to see what was available and found my exact specs on the dealer website where I ordered.
