Not sure you can see it that well in the picture, but I did the same thing and I think the same brand I think it looks good. I don't have a picture, but i put it on the edge of the hood to protect the paint when pulling the windshield wipers back.

It’s there to protect YOUR door when YOU bang someone ELSE’s vehicle.
Better idea……….
Don‘t bang the other vehicle!
As for appearance…………
Kinda reminds me of, when I was a kid, the running controversy about coloring books………..
”Do you outline?”
I did it because it looks good against the Cyber Orange😁.

To me the black trim distracts from the lines of the Maverick.

If protection of your truck is the primary purpose, I found these side trim pieces very effective. This trim piece is pricy ($150) but they are painted to match Ford colors, this trim piece is a thick flexible plastic so other doors just bounce off of them. I've had them on for 3 years and I have no side dings. Order by Ford OEM colors from Amazon "Maverick Side Trim".

What is ironic is all (quality) vehicle manufacturers put a concerted effort into minimizing the width of seams around hoods and doors...but black trim just exaggerates the seams.

I was only worried about paint chips on the hem - they can chip super easy there, So i used a strip of ppf - transparent - A couple offerings out there , i used Xpel Amazon.com: XPEL Door Edge Guard Protection Film Roll, 3/8" x 100' - Car or Truck Doors, Protective Barrier Against Minor Scratches, Paint Chips, Door Edge Impact, and Dings - Prevents Damage and Possible Rust

could use any color as long as it's in a strip - and any snap on I have ever used has always marred the clear coat from fine dust and vibration. The less you drive the less concern though ;)

Cheers

I agree, it makes the door gaps look wider. I don't touch anything, and especially other vehicles, with my doors so I don't need them.

I used it on my carbonized gray Lariat. Blends in great 👍. Also ran under doors to help keep dirt and wind noise out. Used under tailgate too.
