Brand new Maverick owner here,
First and more important issue:
Can the truck's anti-theft alarm have its sensitivity reduced. The truck's nose sits about 10ft from a 10Kw whole-house generator. Every time the generator starts (e.g. for the weekly self test) it triggers the truck's alarm. I theorize its either the generator's EMI burst, or the the loud noise and vibration produced. Has anyone here had any experience with this? Might backing-in the driveway help? Can the dealership's techs do a software adjust?

Secondly, I park nose-in on a driveway that has about a 30 degree incline. When leaving I move the rotary shift knob from park to reverse but the parking brake does not immediately release (no use of that electronic 'emergency' brake whose button is right next to that knob, and no use of that "hill assist" function). I should be rolling backwards but I'm stuck tight. I have to give the truck a little gas for that brake to release. I've had the parking pin on a Tacoma get a little sticky at times but nothing like this. Is this a normal condition for Fords?
Many thanks for any comments.

I am not in my Maverick but when I first got my Maverick, I went through all the setting both on the dash & the big center screen.

I think somewhere in there is a sensitivity setting.

Hill assist: ? (I have a level driveway)

Anyway Welcome to the Maverick Truck Club forum from Alaska!

Please post pictures of your new Maverick. :camera:

It is normal. I turn mine off manually when parked in my driveway. If I use the gas to disengage, it is dangerous when it releases, because I am close to half throttle. It has become an automatic thing for me. My RAV4 hybrid never has this issue!

This truck replaced my RAV4 and like your RAV it never had that issue; as did a previous Tacoma. Imagine my surprise the first time I shifted to reverse and nothing happened. And I'm not one who likes surprises. But just a tap on the gas pedal releases that brake. Upon further research I've found that the "electronic parking brake", "hill start assist", and "auto hold" systems all seem to overlap and the last two are automatic. No wonder I couldn't figure this out. Welcome to Ford land. Just give me a '57 Chevy w/o all this auto-crap.
Peace,
RS

Welcome to the MTC!

I do believe that the parking brake engages when you park on an incline (Not sure of the degree of it)

It is to prevent damage to the transmission. I have an FX4 and it does it to me if I am on a fairly steep incline when I park it. THe alarm though I dont have any clue. Sorry.

It engages every time you park, it just doesn't release if you are parked on a grade

My driveway is inclined, I put my foot on the brake, start it, then push the parking brake button to release the brake (works before or after you select a gear) then I can just roll out smoothly.
