I'm still trying to figure out how this is even remotely necessary. So you cover the stock bumper with basically a cover that looks and acts exactly like the stock bumper? Maybe I'm missing something.

I've actually used the bumper to step up into the bed of mine, placing my food a hair away from the tailgate itself, and there was no issue. (I went *REALLY* easy applying my weight onto the bumper for fear it might crack, however it was fine....I'm a size 14/15 shoe and weigh in at maybe 250 lbs).

I could see that cover might help spread out the weight, but surely isn't going to work for us Lariat owners, blocking the sonar sensors.

You can make some cuts on the TPE Pad, but due to the sensitivity of the sensor, it may require the use of professional cutting tools to complete.

Considering a new bumper cover from Ford MSRP's for $1000 a little extra protection wouldn't be a bad thing. Assuming it doesn't create more damage than it protects from. The Ford plastic trim pieces are absurdly expensive in general. The upper grille insert, for example, is $400!

Yes, those two circled. There is also a sensor at each corner, barely perceivable in the photo. Covered, they'll like freak out, and sound the proximity tone, or that would be my guess. - It's only the sensors left & right of the hitch which would be the issue. (Guess two holes could be cut, but they'd likely not be clean looking.)

Yes.Cutting holes is a feasible method, but it may cause uneven edges and may require the use of professional cutting machines. We will provide relevant feedback regarding the sensor issue!
