Recently ordered the Steeda rear sway bar for my 2wd xlt ecoboost Maverick. Unfortunately it does not fit . Seems this sway bar only fits awd models. Waiting to here back from Steeda about this. When ordering on their site there is no indication that it's not for 2wd. Anyone else have this issue.

If they don’t take returns I’ll buy it from you 🤷🏻‍♂️

I just checked their site and you're right, they don't indicate it's only for AWD models although the instructions do show installation on an AWD model. The fwd hybrid and eco models have a completely different rear suspension from the AWD models.

Yes they confirmed it does not fit 2wd. They said they will be updating the site. I was getting excited for this one. Guess we'll have to wait for a bit.

I really want a rear sway bar for myFWD Maverick. At stock height the handling is atrocious.

Twist beam suspensions such as the rear suspension on a FWD Maverick don't incorporate sway bars. That's why there aren't any available in the aftermarket.

Since that's the case what can we do? I've got Steeda springs and Massive strut tower brace but I can't find any shocks. I'd like it to handle a little better.

Shocks and springs are your only options for altering the rear suspension with bolt-on mods, and I'm not aware of any available performance shocks for the FWD Maverick.

I’m thinking the complete rear suspension sub assembly from a AWD will bolt into a FWD of course you can and will remove the differential and just use stub axles/the outer part of the CV joint. Crazy but worth looking into.

If you look a little harder, you'll see the FWD rear suspension is a giant rear sway bar already by design.

That's actually a twist-beam but, yes, it does serve similar purposes as a sway bar on an multi-link suspension. However, since it's an integral part of the twist-beam suspension design, it unfortunately can't be upgraded/tuned from the factory to tweak handling balance as the sway bar can on AWD Mavericks.
