Ford Maverick - The perfect sub compact farm truck!

When I first started searching for info on the Maverick I ran across this cute little video explaining why the Maverick was the perfect sub compact farm truck. No one really talks about these trucks doing useful work so I found this to be great.

Compact not sub compact. Slate is sub compact. Tells me to stay away from that video if the can't even state the correct class.

Sub-compact refers to the tractor size, I fully intend to use mine with the class up compact utility tractors and implements I have as well, beyond that heavy equipment mostly goes to the big truck. In Kubota world, sub-compact is the BX series, 16-24 HP, and a compact tractors run roughly 25-65 HP depending on the brand and model. I have a 37HP cab utility loader/hoe tractor that's going behind it and a 50HP loader open station that can go behind it as well.

As Heady said, he was referring to the farm equipment class, not the truck. Guys who farm or work with this type of equipment get the distinction LOL

Exactly, I have a big truck for big boy work, and now a small truck for the everything else sort of stuff. The perfect two truck solution! I run compact size stuff here on my place.

As Heady said, he was referring to the farm equipment class, not the truck. Guys who farm or work with this type of equipment get the distinction LOL

Only thing if you are critiquing the video is he expressed 90 miles away and going for Hybrid vs ecoboost. Highway difference is not that much difference especially back then the ecoboost could get the 4k and more importantly AWD. Also he bought the FWD hybrid and stating to buy the ecoboost to get 4k towing. Other than that I think he is spot on being able to use on the farm. I don't think the bed is sufficient but pulling a trailer with 4k can accommodate a whole lot of bales of hay or a few round bales on the trailer.

Besides what he has mentioned in the video. The truck especially AWD is pretty nimble and enough ground clearance to maneuver on the farm/woods. Either way the Ford Maverick is a very capable truck. Just have to know it's abilities, it's not a 3/4 or 1 ton truck but neither is a half ton F150. The engine is not a diesel and the truck is unibody not body on frame.

Yeah, he states he has the F150 for the bigger work, but all that small stuff that doesn't need the larger truck the Maverick can do it. I just thought that he made practical points that no one is making about the Maverick truck. He has done a few videos on the Maverick for winter time, and things that are good/bad. Just practical videos. He clearly has other interests on his channel, but just shared his Maverick a few times.
