After not finding anything in 5 on 108 that really spoke to me (or agreed with my wallet) I rejected the industry's take on reality and substituted my own. Cut the center caps so I could inlay an old set of F150 center caps. Paid for a cheap set of beauty rings.

I have a unique set of wheels for the cost of a song that are wrapped in 255/60R17 tires that are performance and XL rated. Feels like a win on my part.

Some people consider laws about economics political, but don't consider laws about vehicles like towing or safety features political, it's a combination cognitive dissonance and a selective bias to not see the vehicular topics in the same lens otherwise a lot of discussion we'd want to have about the truck would be lost.

Aah, this is strictly a non-political truck thread then. Gotcha.

Indeed, one can frame any topic as a political topic, from the mundane discussion of a tow rating to the cost of an item. such is the thorny nature of censorship, all such rules are inherently subjective and left to interpretation, rather than objective fact.

Yeah. And some attempt to disguise their political bias, and diss those who call it out. That method is less successful when the title title clearly shows the bias.

TrailMaster is exactly right, we disguise our bias from ourselves and others nearly all the time, often unconsciously. It's pretty much unavoidable.

That was kind of the original idea, the economist John Maynard Keynes predicted with automation we'd have 15 hour work weeks and then everyone would have more time for vacations, and reading books, and playing with their children, without having to wait for retirement to do as many fun and fulfilling things - which was one option, of two. We chose the second option, to create the second gilded age with more inequality than we've ever seen, and send all the monetary benefits of the robots to a much smaller group of people at the very top, who get much larger individual benefits from reaping all the rewards for themselves and not having to split them up.
Wouldn't say we chose, the choice was made for us.

Interestingly AGI / superintelligence has the potential to wipe out middle and upper middle class white collar jobs in the same way that automation made factories so incredibly efficient at pumping out practically everything with less labor, if it doesn't kill us right away. I don't think we are in any way prepared for the societal impact that will make the industrial revolution and microchips looks like comparatively minor achievements.

How does it show bias?
It seems to imply the effect of tariffs is price increases (on wheels, specifically). Maybe so. It also implies that tariffs overall "effect" is negative price hikes, and nothing positive comes out of them. That opens up the topic for (political) debate. BUT, it can not be discussed in more detail on the Maverick Truck Club without violating the rule of no politics. Therefore, readers can accept that tariffs are inherently bad, or we can suppress our opinion to avoid talking politics.

Or we can suggest the thread be locked. ;)

It is stating a known cause and effect.
It is not political unless someone makes it political.

Someone already has:

"Good for you but economic date for decades speaks against the idea that these are good policies."

"If you think the Biden presidency was hell then you have not been paying attention."

"Also, the majority did not win on election day. But again you seem allergic to facts."

"Keep parroting fox talking points and keep your head buried."

"The rest of America will continue on fighting for our rights and freedoms while your party works to remove them. Enjoy having no insurance or hospitals."

No hypocrisy there.

In response to the guy that started it. Sorry you are too brainwashed to understand facts.
