New running boards. Thoughts? Should i add Mabett fender flares?

I installed the mabett wheel flares and mud guards on my 2025 white Lariat Hybrid and they really made the truck stand out. I live in Asheville NC, so I added the mountain decals to the side bed of my truck. I also attached the AWD and Hybrid tags to the tailgate and my daughter gave me the dog paw tow hitch cover in honor of the family dog. I have only driven my truck 1600 miles, but have really enjoyed it.

I have nerf bars are my Maverick with Mabett fender flares. They look good together. And hottie torrid from S. MS.

You don’t need running boards. The truck sits low enough to the ground like an SUV. I bought the Bushwacker Fender Flares. I had them painted the color of my truck. I wanted them to look like it was part of the truck, not an add on.

I installed TrailFX A4 Step Bars for my wife. I also installed both the Mabett Fender Flares and the Mabett Mud Flaps.

I installed both the Mabett Fender Flares and the Mabett Mud Flaps at the same time.

I agree that Mabett Fender Flares look like they belong on the Maverick.

I chuckled when I saw running boards. One of the main reasons I traded in my 4 x 4 Silverado for a Maverick is to get away from using running boards or step rails. What is the purpose of the running boards? Is it just for show?

I was thinking the same thing. I literally slide sideways to get out and my feet are already touching the ground. I would think the chances of stepping on these and getting hurt would be greater than NOT having them....Unless I/we are wrong and they are just for "show" Lipstick on a pig I guess.....

I like the idea of running boards. Not so much to step on but the fact that they stick out enough to protect the sides from door dings.
