Vinyl Stickers finally failed after 2.5 years

Welp today was the day. My MAVERICK vinyl stickers failed (the last leg of the E tore off so it looked like MAVFRICK lol). I was wondering when this would happen and 2.5 years was the answer. Also worthy of noting, they started out as mirror finish chrome and ended up a golden color as it faded.

A Maverick looks so much better without these stickers in the lettering. Hopefully they are removable without damaging the paint underneath. These and the stickers people get on their hoods and on the rear fenders look awful.

The longevity depends on the adhesive. There is a fine line between an adhesive that is removeable and one that is permanent. Sounds like whoever chose the adhesive picked a removable which is the safe choice not knowing the preference of the buyer. 2.5 years does not seem to be unreasonable performance from a removable adhesive considering the weather extremes a vehicle goes through in a typical year.

Yeah removable with some residue leftover which was easily removed just rubbing it off. I was just curious on the timeline of these cheaper lettering

I like the way they look. Different strokes I guess. 2 1/2 years is pretty good I think.

So far so good, about 2 years. Not sure of the brand. They’re not coming off, I used adhesive promoter!

I think a forum should allow all opinions to be given. I just think that people are trying too hard to be like this RAM pickup. My wife and I always joke when we see one of those by one of us saying: "Is that a RAM pickup?" It's the same with Mavericks with the letters filled in. Hopefully Ford doesn't ever force owners to have the letters colored in from the factory.

Definitely personal preference. I prefer mine filled-in, hence me getting black inserts that match the rest of the BAP on my Maverick. Saying they look "awful" is your opinion, and while you're entitled to it, remember not to force it on others and allow them to have their opinions as well.
