Hello,

Now that the stop sale is lifted, I am very much looking to get a 24 XLT Hybrid Maverick.

Thing is, the dealers in my area seem less apt to want to move these than I originally anticipated.

So, remembering back to previous conversations I had on here, I recall that there were many dealerships in the Southern Midwest (I.E. Kansas) that are flooded with a glut of XLT Mavericks. I live in Iowa, and its pretty unreasonable to drive to Salina KS. So I am genuinely considering having one delivered.

Thing is, I have NEVER considered such a thing before. To own a car without first driving it would have my grandfather rolling in his grave. But, times are different now.

I was wondering, does anyone have any experience in this? What price is a good delivery price? What should I expect the shipping time to be? I have no idea of what to expect on these things.

Please let me know, thanks.

Delivery timing and price are going to be variable based on the dealer location and other factors such as how frequently they ship vehicles. Call the dealer you're thinking of buying from and get an estimate.

I ordered my Maverick without a test drive. It's not that scary if you do your research. You could also get the all-in cost from the dealer 500 miles away and see if a local dealer will price match. And then you can get the test drive before signing.

I would say approach a local dealer and inquire about one and the options you are looking for. They can shop/trade other dealers and have it brought in for a test drive. Then if you don’t like it, you can walk away. If you like it then you can make the purchase

Thanks. I'm looking at going to Granger in Des Moines tomorrow potentially. It's as far as I would be willing to drive myself to get one. I think I've heard some really good things about that dealership here before, but I don't remember where...

My understanding is that granger doesn't have similar deals out of inventory to its order prices, though.

I highly recommend Granger Ford. I am in the process of ordering my 2nd Maverick from them. They have the best price and customer service. There is no high pressure to buy unnecessary add-ons. They also have the best price on extended warranties if you want it.

I just came home with my new 24 XLT Hybrid from Granger.

It is a unique dealership experience to be sure, and I did get a phenomenal deal (ranked 6th in the country for lowest price with all the features I got)

And anyone who prices it lower is probably scamming you by assuming you qualify for unattainable rebates/Ford Employee Pricing
