I made 3 “bed boards” in order to haul plywood per dimensions I’d read (2x6x55 1/8”) and using a tape measure. None fit. I’ve attached the pix I used for reference. View attachment 199317
I have the Lariat with spray in bed liner so reduced the length to 55”. I had to chamfer both ends to get two to put in place. The Ford logo in the front of the bed interferes with the 2x6 designed to go there. Instead of cutting the one I made down, I will use a 2x4 instead. The Ford softcover rails interfere inserting with the 55” length as well. Sheesh!

I've got the graphic at home but I think that it's like 54.5". I use two 2x4s for the sake of heft.

I'll second the 54 1/4". I used a 2x8 cut down to 6 1/2" so its the same height as the wheel wells. If you take a 1 1/2" triangle out of the bottom corners it will sit flat on the bed bottom.

If you have a hard folding tonneau cover, the dimensions won't work because of the tonneau cover rails. I found this out the hard way.

So I could measure this myself but it's -8C outside and dark so I'll ask here. Does the tailgate in the higher position line up parallel with the wheel well or parallel with a 2x4 laying across the wheel well? Also looks like I'd need a 2x6 in the 54 1/4" spot if I wanted to load plywood as anything higher then 2x6 would stand higher then the wheel well and not allow the plywood to sit flat.

I've had my truck for 3 weeks now but it's been to damn cold out to do any custom stuff in the back.

The tailgate when set at the higher position is level with the top of the wheelwells, but I measure 6-1/2" from the top of my rubber bed mat to that level, so a custom cut 2x8 will be needed.
