Back in 2021 my 2021 Bronco Sport remotely started fine with the ford app at work. But at home it was unreliable.
I got a much better wifi router and all my remote start problems went away.
I moved into a TP Link AX3000
It had better beam technology and is referred to as internet level six,
It had twice the effective range and I could get on it from my iPhone anywhere on my 1.6 acres.
But every now and then it would still let me down on the cold mornings.
I no longer need it, remote starts from my Lariat’s key fob are 100% reliable.

Most new vehicles have remote start with a key fob capability. It is just the dealership has to turn it on and you need the correct key fob. I have seen the key fobs for sale for $300 for two factory ford fobs. Then they need programmed and the computer on the truck needs programmed. Dealerships charge 1-2 hours labor. So close to $500 total price to have factory remote start that works and is covered by warranty. If startx is $100 and works that’s great unless it void’s warranty or if Ford can tell you altered something.

You don't alter anything to use the start x. Unplug the cable from your ALDL. Start x send you a cable that plugs in where you disconnected the factory cable. It is very simple. The remote range is very short on mine. Maybe 25 feet. Waiting on the range extender to come back in stock.

2023 Ford Maverick 2.0 Lariat AWD

For whatever reason, this cold morning my Ford Pass app would not work. I was very annoyed when I realized I only knew how to start my truck
through my phone. I don't have a key fob with the remote start option. the app is working now, but sucked getting into a cold truch when it's 14 degrees Fahrenheit.

So I've been searching this forum and it seems to me that StartX from amazon would be the easiest. I'd prefer to get a third key, but it seems too complicated/expensive. Before I pull the trigger, what is the easiest/cheapest way to get a non internet based way to start your car? I'd consider a key with auto start if programming isn't too much of a hassle and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. I prefer avoiding the stealership.

A brand new 2023 Maverick key fob with remote start from North Coast Keyless is $90. I purchased a Transit key fob from them a few years ago for $50, dealer wanted $350. They are legit.
