Just saw Tim from Kansas.
He said that Lariat Lux package has lost the spray in liner option! Will get a drop in liner instead. This is only for unscheduled orders.
Did you see it?
He said Ford is doing this to satisfy orders.
I am very disappointed in this last minute change. I really like the spray look better.
The drop-in shown at Sema actually looks nice. It is implemented well.

Are you sure about this info. According to Johnny's Car Care site, he states if you have a build with the spray in Lux Package AND HAVE A VIN & BUILD DATE, your order is ok and will be built as such. Orders with Lux Package that have no build date and no vin# are getting the drop in.

I have only an order confirmation from Ford for a fairly basic XL. The spray-in liner was an added item, not part of a package. I ordered on Oct. 25. I do not yet have a VIN or Build Date. I have had no other communication. Will I get the spray-in liner as ordered, the drop-in, nothing, or is this still one of the mysteries to be unveiled?

From what I have seen so far, I think it is just the XLT Lux Package. Somewhere on here is the most recent order guide, you can reference it there, it shows what you get for all trim levels and stand alone options I must admit, I had not really looked at the XL as it did not effect my order.

So, we have our Lariat Hybrid w/Lariat lux pkg, dated July 19. At the time we placed our order, the Lariat Lux pkg included the spray-on liner. I have seen conflicting messages on this thread as to whether the deletion of the spray-on liner from the Lux pkg will be retroactive, or will apply only to future orders. As a matter of basic fairness it seems to me that the change should NOT be retroactive (as the Lux pkg we ordered lists for $3340, which price included the spray-on liner). What's the definitive answer here, or maybe we don't know it?

The definitive answer is it is not retro. Only applies to future orders. Sae Tim from Kansas say this on Youtube. I am happy about this.
Thx

The downside to this is that many new orders will probably be built before the older ones now because they don't have the constraint 😅

Just got notice that my build will be pushed back for the 3rd time since I ordered. Nov 5th to the 15th now Dec 6th. My build is an XLT-FX4 with spray in liner. When I originally ordered it was ordered with a drop in liner but the dealer said the liner is on back order! so we went with the spray in to expedite. hmmmmm

JRPhawk, your situation sounds very similar to mine. My order was also pushed back after switching to spray in from hard drop in liner. My build is also scheduled for a Dec 6 build. Mine HPR XLT has all packages moon roof rollup tonneau and wildpeak tires and special rims. My original order with drop in is also scheduled for some reason it was never cancelled by dealer. What does your build include, if simmilar you may just get built soon.

So you'd be ok with changes and substitutions which were not approved by you and for which you still have to pay for?? There ought to be a final buyer approval step when a vehicle is scheduled for build just to be sure all is as expected.
The way things are now reminds me of the "Cool Hand Luke" line
"What we have hear is a Failure to Communicate."
C'mon Ford! You can do better!
You are certainly putting a lot of words in my mouth. I said good luck with getting the dealer to pay for what Ford decided to do. Like - it won't happen - this is hardly the same thing as "I think it's fine for Ford to change features"
🙄

This is such a Ford shill thing to say. Just because Ford makes a decision doesn't mean customers have to be happy about it. This is a forum and this is the exact type of thing that customers should be venting about it to get it noticed at Ford. Defending Ford for making terrible decisions will just encourage them to keep doing it knowing they have an army of shills out there that will white knight for them on social media and forums.
It's been explained several times that we are getting what we were told on our DORA. Why are you still getting so animated? Just like to blow off steam or something?

I only ordered XLT Luxury to get the power seat. I actually prefer the look of the bed without a liner, but I ordered on 10/22, so I may be stuck with it.

Placed my order in early october for an XLT with lux package. Had the Spray in locked in. Went to the dealer yesterday and changed my order to the new Lux package with the drop in. Taking a chance on maybe getting scheduled a little sooner. We will see if it makes a difference come thursday. Deler has a contract with Line X and I will be able to get a reasonably priced spray in when it comes in if i want.

So now you are paying for two liners. One piece of junk drop in guaranteed to rust your bed out. The other an aftermarket spray in which is additional cost even though Ford had originally made it part of the package price. Either way it is anti-consumer and Ford should be called out for the shenannigans.
I made the choice to take a chance and try and get my truck sooner. I ordered the lux package for mainly everything else and the liner was a bonus. I will immediately remove the drop in when it arrives and probably sell it. Then I will be able to get a line x for 399 thru the dealer which I’m sure will be a far superior product than what Ford provides and will also have a better warranty. I’m not gonna cry over a few hundred dollars on a 30k plus truck.

also Ford never took it away from anyone who originally ordered it. So if anyone with a new order didn’t like the drop in then they could simply just not order it.
