Does anyone know if it's possible to retro fit adaptive cruise on a 2025 XLT? The sensor doesn't look to be prohibitively expensive, but would hate to spend the money just to find out that the computer doesn't have the functionality.

It was possible for 2022-2024 so you'll be able to for 2025 but it is not for the faint of heart.

How so???
How so what?

You'll need the module and any wiring, possibly a new grille, new steering wheel controls, and Forscan to enable it all.

It really is not an easy project to undertake. Check these threads out:

Don't forget the whole IPMA setup is different on the '25s (new module is behind the seat, separate from the windshield camera). So the wiring and programming is likely to be significantly altered.

yes.

OP, unless you're a major nerd who can put major time into this, I would say you need to wait 3-6+ months unless someone else blazes the trail.

I assume the XL and XLT ecoboost still have a vacuum brake booster. I would research that first, because if they do the stop & go functionality will not work. Lariat, Lobo, Tremor have an electric brake booster. Actually I'm not sure about Lobo 402A, that probably should be something to verify.

Well, the first three all have an electric brake booster because they have ACC already. The Lobo Low probably doesn't on account of being XLT-based.

I'd classify myself as a quantum level nerd.. ;) I don't know if this version has a electric brake booster, but I suspect it may as it does have that handy brake hold feature when stopped.

I (and many others) would love for you to be the first to do it on a 2025. (y)

I am not such a nerd, but I do have a suggestion of going to look on other forums of other sync4 enabled vehicles such as the F150 or Explorer to see how they added ACC. Do not bother looking at Bronco 6G, they have a crappy windshield camera and it cannot do lane centering. (I have a Bronco with ACC and they should have just called it radar cruise control, because it is.)

Just chiming in here—I would also like to be a part of the retrofit on my 2025 XLT once someone with electrical know-how figures out the wiring diagram (I'm a software guy, not an electrical engineer). If anyone else wants to dive into the new IPMA structure, let me know. I'm ordering the FORScan kit for my truck this week to start looking into the coding changes people have mentioned.

You’re going to pay almost as much for the radar than it would have been to grab a Lariat.

Very True, although I got a heck of a deal on an Inventory XLT (below cost) so I went that route. Now I'm in it for the long-haul haha. (I'm also just wanting it for Comma.Ai)

it's true that it's possible to option an XLT so much that it gets uncomfortably close to lariat pricing.

however, I thought about doing this retrofit on a no-options Lobo 402A because I don't want the sunroof or pleather seats in the 702A, and it's 5.5k cheaper for the 402A ($36500 vs $43000, roughly).

I further thought about buying a Tremor grille to mount the ACC radar problem-free, but that would bring the ACC add-on into the 2k range.

Fair enough, adding CP360 to an XLT and thats it there is still a $7k difference between models.

The gap begins to close significantly once AWD is added to an XLT.
