Just got back from another trailer trip. 1900 miles total. Trips down I had just under the 4k limit in my 10’ enclosed trailer with twin axles.
I ran my 87-93 flex octane tune. That feature was great as on more than one occasion in the Kentucky mountains I only found 92 Oct.
trip back only had roughly 1200lbs.
So things I notice and continue to impress me.

First was fuel mileage total trip ended with 14mpg. This is pretty amazing considering I know this trailer catches wind.
The second thing I noticed was how much better it towed up hills. When it was stock it would downshift on even the smallest rolling hills when loaded heavy. Now it will tackle a good portion while never shifting.
The downshifts and engine braking are much more refined with the tune. Or so it seems. It was able to do a great job at keeping speed down grades with very little brake input.
Over I’m still happy I tuned it.
i have 50k miles on it since purchasing in March last year.

About 20k miles are towing. Many time much more weight than its rated for. It’s been in every kinda situation. From Mich to south Texas and back. Mich to Ny, also trips to LA and CO all hauling. It’s had handled everything even the 8k lbs loads without issues. Trans temp stays consistent along with all the other temps.
I find it does best between 65-75mph.
If anyone is on the fence I highly recommend it. I’m oddly excited to see the long term results from this truck with how much I overwork it.
But I’ll never know if it’s my hauling habits or my slightly bigger 265 tires. lol “those of you that get that last reference will understand”

Thanks for posting and especially the short review. What about adding a picture of your Maverick with your trailer?

This was a very quick trip so I didn’t grab any pictures but I can snap some today when I use the same setup to go grab a bunch of office chairs.

Levi, were you able to monitor the boost, and if so, what type of sustained boost did you see?

I'm curious how much these gas engines can handle for extended periods? I remember my trucking days and running 15-20lbs for long distances, but would think these gas engines might hatch if they were exposed to those same pressures?

Maybe not?

I don't have a tune on my 23 FX4 4k Lariat, but tow a 3500lbs trailer on the regular. With my scan gauge 2, I've seen as high as 27lbs of boost on full throttle, uphill towing situations. It usually sits in the 10-15 lbs range while towing in tow/haul mode for most of the hills and such here in So Me. I've been super impressed with this little truck and it's ability to tow, as well as haul ass!

So the weight does not seem to affect the boost levels. But the wind does.
the CO trip I was running 14-18psi pretty regularly.
this trips was around 8psi average. CO I never submit it off to or home. So two trips just over 20 hours with boost as low flexibility between 14-18psi the whole time. They seem to handle it pretty well. Temps seemed stable.

Here is the setup I run mostly with the maverick. Got this trailer for heavy loads that don’t take up space. Very regularly haul much more than the 4k rating. Mostly with this or my larger 16’ with my car in it.

Is there a missing picture?
