I know what you mean about salt on the roads. I moved back to Fredonia from Sept ‘23-Sept ‘24 to be with my 85 year old mother who’s in a nursing home. I fought the salt battle with my Maverick up there. Luckily, there was a new hi-tech car wash that I joined and got the under-carriage wash. I went 2-3 times a week to keep the salt off my truck. I made sure I wiped the wheel wells and inside of the doors really good.
Those Buffalo streets are terrible with potholes everywhere!!

XLT FX4 definitely was a wise choice for snowy conditions. You have slippery mode for getting around efficiently, and you have 'off-road' mode for having fun. (Be careful - it allows a lot more wheelspin and yaw than even normal mode; it's the opposite of slippery mode.)
