I use 87 octane unless I'm towing. I have towed with 87 octane and did not notice a difference. I have the Ecoboost but your owners manual should offer some input.

I highly advise to wait tell 3000 miles to do the first engine oil and filter change. The oil that should be in there should be break in oil. That's the reason I would refrain from changing it earlier than 3000 miles.

Congratulations on your new Maverick. How about attaching a picture of two of your new truck. Best of luck with your new Maverick.
Agree on the break in oil...it's supposed to be in there for 5000 miles i believe.

There is no break-in oil in Mavericks, and the first oil change is supposed to be done at 1000 miles.

Where did this information come from? Not in the owner’s manual.
Agreed! The factory break in oil isn't supposed to be changed so soon, I'll see if I can find it in the Ford manual.

It is listed in some manuals but not the Mav's. The goal is to vary engine RPM's more during bearing and ring break in.
I don't think the newer engines require varying rpms. Clearances, fuel and oil are all tighter. It's true you don't want to put the motor under excessive loads and high revs until some break in.

I'm sure this is the case. However, it is still listed in a ton of late-model vehicles manuals (newer than the 22 Mav at least) and seeing how easy it is, I did it anyway.

Only recommendation is as i said. What is really important is not to use cruise control for a long period. Take vehicle on long rather than many short trips in the beginning to get up to full temp. No high revs during break in.
